London meet up - Saturday 15th September
A London meet up has been arranged on Saturday 15th September from 2pm at our now usual haunt of the Woodin Shades (212 Bishopsgate, London, Greater London, EC2M 4PT).
So far there are most of the usual suspects such as
Johnfoyle
Sheeptotheslaughter
Sulky lad
Neil.
Iansephton
with some other people such as krm and Goon Squad likely to be there as well. What more could we want? Well...some others for a start!
There'll only be limited Elvis gig activity to talk about although we'll probably all be given advance copies of the new CD at the meet up. It might happen and you can only be 100% certain by attending...
So come one come all for the forum's highest anticipated event of 2018 to date. I know I said that last time but that was in the past. We have to Look Now! (see what I did there?).
Cheers

Sorry peeps, but unfortunately I won't be able to make this now due to a work event. Bloody shame coz I was looking forward to catching up with everyone and chatting about the new album. Hopefully I can make the next one !
Have a great time.................and have a few G+Ts for me !

Meet up alert!
I’m looking forward to this, not only to catch up (and gloat ) about being at Monday’s recording of Mastertapes, but also to see what goodies sulky lad might have...

The modest turnout was compensated by the wide international makeup of those gathered , from Sweden , Dublin, the Home Counties and janner - land . John was there first of course quickly followed by Verbal, Neil and myself . Kjell appeared soon after that with a couple of cassettes of early Costello shows . Mostly the discussion was of the Mastertapes and Edney’s excellent recollection of the whole evening was brought into focus by various further memories. Sadly my agenda meant I beat a hasty retreat somewhat earlier than usual and left the usual suspects still debating the artistic merits of Eamonn Singers LP covers and we unanimously agreed his greatest work remains Pat and Mike. As always great to spend time on the company of such knowledgable Costello fans and such wonderful and loving human beings !

T'was indeed a great afternoon and as ever there was some great conversation. I was fascinated to learn that apparently johnfoyle talks too much
For me the 6 hours went very quickly and I'd have stayed longer if it wasn't for the fact that I have to drive my daughter and 5 of her 8 year old friends to her birthday party in the morning.
Curse her selfishness
We had a pretty agreeable view that the new album artwork is poor!
Still, all in all it was worth going for the promo new album cds.
DISCLAIMER - one of the sentences in this post is not true.

Give us a chance - it’s a 5 volume set!
I like what I’ve heard so far though.

This wind up about the new album promo doesn't seem to be working, ho-hum, still glad John got us copies !
Re: London meet up - Saturday 15th September
KRM gave me the Swedish edition of Elvis's book, adding to my collection.
