Trust.
Great song, isn't it ?
And superb bass-playing from Bruce.

Actually, it's Elvis on bass, isn't it (one of his do-it-yourself recordings)?

You're right. All instruments were played by Elvis.

Bass

The bass line is borrowed from Crooked Beat by the Clash. EC alludes to this in the liner notes of the Rhino reissue but doesn't mention the song by name.

It's one of my top ten Costello songs.

Try out the alternativ version on 'Punch the Clock's bonus disc. Preferable to the ones on Trusts bonus disc

You sure about that? Trust came out only one month after Sandinista (January 1981 vs. December 1980).

Since Trust was completed in November, Elvis would have needed an advance copy of Sandinista.

That's true but according to the EC sessionography, http://www.elviscostello.info/disc/disc5.html, "BSC" was recorded later than the rest of the album. On the other hand, I just sampled a bit of "Bankrobber", a Clash single that isn't on any of their main albums, and it seems to have roughly the same bassline as "Crooked Beat" and "BSC." Since that came out earlier in 1980 (and was probably a more frequently-played song), I must concede that's a more likely influence.
