I can't vote here - or show my face again  as I've not heard El Mocambo...yet.

I can say that FTS was the first experience that I had with an EC disc that really just didn't do anything for me. And, I do like opera - she's just a bit shrill or something.

First, I must admit that, much fun as I am having reading both of your posts, I am far too intimidated to chime in. I finally read Shrub this year (I had already gleefully voted against) but completely adored Ms. Ivins writing! Here's a semi-on-topic funny secret; I didn't like any of the boys in Jr...

W is evil. Did any of you notice that TWO WEEKS after he passed his stellar "No Child Left Behind Act" he started cutting the funding for it? This week he's turning around the headway Carter made by forcing oil companies to add pollution reducers to their buldings. (Oil, Bush - could there...

It has always been my contention that true moral laws are based solely on logic and forethought; religious precepts just muddy the waters. Of course, I should mention that my understanding of organized religion is that it is a political machine to keep the masses in line and build enough revenue to ...

I so agree POV & Sweet Pear- after my re-reading my previous post it occurs to me that I sounded a little censor-happy...not my intent. I'm as big a fan of persons with opinions as I am of EC: quite huge. Further, without being too catty, I have to admit that during a heated game of Scrabble las...

Many beard years here on and off - one under the visual guise of a mohawk year (oh to be that young, semi-obnoxious and anti-social girl again). Most recently I had a beard year when I moved into the house I had lived in as a child; much different to live there sans the fam. "This is the place ...

So I've been out of town for a bit and just read the whole thread...can't help but add my opinion: Elvis has written a lot - some, like Girls Talk, are obviously autobiographically referential (to a certain model I gather a majority of you prefer to not read a reference to) other songs, like Chelsea...
