senior service,
you may want to start with any of the 68 comeback special cds or his elvis presley 56 record (early stuff this one) ....those are pure rock & roll!

When I was a little kid (6,7,8...) I had a 45 record player and a giant collection of my mom's 45's from the late 40's and 50's. I played all those records and knew them all by heart. She had quite a few Elvis Presley singles. I don't know if I can give a top five but I think I'd have to say my fav is Blue Christmas.
I also remember Jailhouse Rock, Love Me Tender, Don't Be Cruel and the one that just cracked me and my sisters up...All Shook Up.
As an adult, I don't have any of the King's records but I've always liked anything I've heard of his. I do like Suspicious Minds.

Well, I don't listen to Elvis much these days, but I can't hear "In the Ghetto" by anyone other than Cartman from South Park. I just can't picture Elvis singing it anymore.
I remember buying my mom Elvis Aloha from Hawaii on 8-track in the seventies. It was a Christmas present.
I do love Suspicious Minds and Can't Help Falling In Love. Plus, I love knowing that Ron Tutt plays drums on American Without Tears from King of America.

Love Me
Mystery Train
King Creole
Don't Be Cruel
True Love Travels On A Gravel Road*
I was (am) a big fan of the Nick Lowe version from Impossible Bird and really didn't know that Elvis had done a version in the 60's - it took me by surprise hearing this on the 5 disc Essential 60's masters set. Just a great great song.
