Help Jarvis Cocker get to #1...

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Help Jarvis Cocker get to #1...

Now this is a worthy cause! Unfortunately it's not available on the US iTunes store, so you UK people need to do your part!

Unless it's released on a physical format as well, it can't chart.

Didn't Gnarles Barkley go to #1 on download sales alone? I haven't got a magoo about the rules.

Up the Jarv!

It did, yes, but it was only allowed to do it as it had the physical formats released the following week.

Ah, now I understand. Oh well, any new Jarvis is obviously a good thing so I'm still buying it.

Thanks BA.

Sumbled across this on Pitchfork. Downloading now...

Stream: Jarvis Cocker's First Podcast

Let Morrissey sing all those wankers to sleep. The rest of us, meanwhile, now have the short-story-reading voice of Jarvis Cocker to escort our weary heads to dreamland. Jarvis has just posted to his MySpace (aka the JarvSpace) the first of a series of "Jarvcasts", and this one features the charismatic Pulp frontman reading an Icelandic folktale called "The Wizards of the Westman Islands". Future installments promise more such folktales and Lord knows what kind of spoken-word mayhem. Keep up, iTunes users, by subscribing to Cocker's podcast series for free-- just search "Jarvcast".

Cocker, meanwhile, reports in his My--err--Jarv--Space blog that he has completed his new album. No word yet on a title, tracklist, or release date. Likely to appear on the disc: new tune "Running the World" (aka "Cunts Are Still Running the World"), a live video for which Jarv has just posted to YouTube. Podcasting, blogging, MySpace, YouTube? Man's turning into a real internet fiend. Just wait 'til he discovers vlogging.
