I met Patti Smith
So my family was in Paris, walking around the Latin Quarter, and none other than Patti Smith was walking into the same bookstore I was about to walk in to. I said, "Patti Smith?" And she turned around and said, "Hello." I said, "Sorry to bother you, but it's not often I bump into people whose work I admire so much." Then I stammered something about Horses being brilliant (which was a genuine sentiment, though I hadn't owned a copy since high school . I bought a new one that day). She replied, "And you have a beautiful family."
Pretty damn cool all around.

Nice one Noise, though Martin "rear ending Morrissey" would definitely trump your Patti Smith, or anything else for that matter.
echos myron like a siren
with endurance like the liberty bell
and he tells you of the dreamers
but he's cracked up like the road
and he'd like to lift us up, but we're a very heavy load

I won't argue about nearly rear ending Moz, as I'd be deathly afraid of where the argument would go.
It was very cool and very random, and what's weird is that I randomly bumped into Peter Boyle (Young Frankenstein) in 2004 in line at a gelateria in Venice and then Fred Willard (all the Christopher Guest movies) at the Venice airport the next day. I once randomly bumped into Elizabeth Perkins (Big) on the streets of Baltimore while she was filming He Said, She Said. Another time I was taking the Baltimore metro and got off at a stop where a huge crowd was gathered. Tom Hanks, Dabney Coleman, and Lorri Singer were filming a scene in The Man with One Red SHoe in the Baltimore metor, and I got to meet them all. And least impressive of all, I sat next to the lead singer of 38 special on a commercial airline flight from Baltimore to San Antonio. This happens to me a LOT.
But Patti Smith is pretty much the coolest.

But then I would have to share the prize with many many people. Can you pick me out 6 random numbers between 1 and 49? I'll buy a ticket with those numbers noise
And if there's no luck perhaps I'll start a weekly Help VG Try And Win The Lottery thread! If there is luck then I'll take back all the nasty things I've never said about you.

Patti Smith is fantastic. She's a great singer and I really dig "Kimberly". It must have been a delightful experience.

I met Trine Dyrholm at a brunch buffet and she eyed me like a pork chop.

She was in Lars Von Trier's The Celebration and she's kinda hot.

You certainly did noise. I won £10 with your numbers! Come on over and I'll buy you a beer. Unless you'd like to take the money to reduce your credit card debt!
