James Blunt and THAT monkey
James Blunt and THAT monkey
I went to see James Blunt last night...OK OK, don't all shout. He wasn't all that bad, AND he did a Slade song! Anyway, on the overpriced merchandise stall (£8 for a keyring anyone?) the tour T Shirt has a familiar motif. The monkey from EC's The Monkey speaks his mind tour! It was the same dancing monkey - I even checked my EC mug when I got home. The monkey made another appearance as a back projection during the show. Does Elvis know? Has the monkey deserted, or was it copywrighted? Can you copywright a monkey??

Elvis and Blunt have the same PR company And what's more Blunt's album is called "Back To Bedlam" (not unlike a song from The Delivery Man).
The monkey is designed by some company that both Elvis and James Blunt use, so I guess there is no problem.
I guess they both liked the monkey. James Blunt fans probably think EC stole the Monkey off their guy!

I don't care for Blunt....he's a major bore, and I cannot, for the life of me, understand his popularity - it alarms me !!!!

Go out right now and buy one or all of the following:LittleFoole wrote:The current state of "new music" is pretty depressing
Josh Rouse - Nashville
Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - Naturally
Cat Power - The Greatest
Wilco - A Ghost Is Born
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
M. Ward - Transistor Radio
Then tell me the current state of "new music" is depressing. People need to turn off their radios and get out a little bit more. I'm sure there are many more albums my fellow board members can add to that short list.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

'13 songs' Julie Feeney
An album that reveals something new with every listen - I can't get enough of it.

Lookaftering Vashti Bunyan
Ditto for this.

True, I'm sure....I have to admit that I live in a fairly radio-deficient area (suburban Knoxville.....ain't much going on on the airwaves, other than FIV....) We DO have RobinElla .... she's cool, if you're into AmericanaBlueChair wrote: People need to turn off their radios and get out a little bit more. I was working out the other day and had 5 min. left on the treadmill. I was dying....then a J. Blunt video comes on the wide screen and forces me to listen to his crappy junky music and lame voice while I run the last few deadly minutes...and I scream..............HOLD NU FUCKING KÆFT....(shut the fuck up)..I think that record is number one here...jesus.
I'd never leave the house if I had a Gimp
I'm so out of touch with both the good and the bad of new music, that this is the first of heard of James Blunt.
I wonder if that was his given name, or if "James Marijuana" just seemed too obvious.

Illy as in Illy coffee?
Nope. Probably some illegal drug. Tragically unhip here.
