Snow looks problematic for tomorrow. i wonder if venue and the band has alternate date free on the 10th or 12th. actually am not attending myself this night. but, i am worried about potential disappointment for friends and strangers alike that might not find it so easy to get there. good luck to all.

That’s my concern as well, coming in from Jersey. Manhattan’s one thing, getting to Brooklyn via mass transit may be a fruitless endeavor.bronxapostle wrote:Snow looks problematic for tomorrow. i wonder if venue and the band has alternate date free on the 10th or 12th. actually am not attending myself this night. but, i am worried about potential disappointment for friends and strangers alike that might not find it so easy to get there. good luck to all.

Brooklyn Steel is booked on 3/10 and 3/12, so I imagine they'd be hard pressed to postpone or cancel the gig. Personally, I'd love a slightly depressed turnout.....

I plan to be there. Hoping there is no cancellation, although it might be dicey getting home after the show.

I'm so glad I live in the neighborhood. Literally, a 16 minute walk away. Just hoping it doesn't get cancelled.

I'LL BET MY PAYCHECK THIS SHOW WILL NOT BE CANCELLED. go all and enjoy the night at a much less crowded venue than it would have been minus the snow.
Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Brooklyn, March 7 2018
I agree with BA....fingers crossed. I suspect we'll know within the next couple hours.
Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Brooklyn, March 7 2018
Wish I was there, instead I'm here. Will be hitting the trails listening to some live EC at GAMH.

Plenty of tix on Stubhub for $30 or less, so the dream of a sparsely attended show is alive!

Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Elvis tweets:
We’re here. Hope you can make it in the snow and we don’t have to send out the St. Bernard with a barrel of brandy round it’s neck, snowshoes and a toboggan. #BrooklynSteel

A great, but not awesome show. Some terrific surprises (Blue Chair, Miracle Man, Next Time Around, Come the Meantimes, Still Have That Other Girl) but, I dunno, the show didn't seem to have a focus. That's what happens when you're not touring an album or framing it with a gimmick (Spinning Songbook, Imperial Bedroom).
I was really expecting, and looking forward to, a lot more new material (no "Go Tell"? WTF?). I wonder if this was the show they'd been planning to do in Vegas. Actually, EC did say that the new material "wasn't ready," so that's probably the explanation.
Finally: the backup singers seem really, really, really, really unnecessary. Was hoping it was just gonna be EC and the boys.
I'll be interested to see how different tomorrow and Friday are. If not much, I think I may sell my Sunday tic.
All that said: Was a thrill to see him and the Is, as always.

Elvis Costello + Brooklyn = brilliant
Really great show, with EC in fine voice and spirits. Good crowd too, which he seemed to appreciate.
4 new ones for me: (1) This is Hell, (2) Motel Matches (finally after 30+ shows!!), (3) Talking in the Dark, and (4) You Shouldn't Look at Me That Way.
Only negative was how far the venue is from the subway. The walk in blowing snow was a bitch and I was pretty soaked.
Good to meet some fellow fans before the show at a local Vietnamese restaurant!

They were selling zip-up hooded sweatshirts at this show with the Brooklyn and Port Chester dates on the back. I know it's a long shot but if anyone has a lead on tracking one of these down, I'd appreciate a heads up. I was hoping they might pop up on the website but they never did.
