And, though she’s first and foremost a creative and innovative new music composer, she’s had some very high level contact with the non-classical music world, specifically with jazz diva Diana Krall and Krall’s partner Elvis Costello.
“That came from me being a professional copyist way back, for various people,” says Morlock. “At one point they needed a copyist for some music by The Chieftains. Then Elvis needed a touring librarian, so I became that person for him and Diana in 2006 or 2007. This certainly affected my own work, but not in the ways you might expect. I travelled and heard some amazing jazz musicians, enjoying seeing other cultures, meeting dozens and dozens of people everywhere we went.”
