Graham Parker Sheperd's Bush 10/26
Graham Parker Sheperd's Bush 10/26
Hello,
Wasn't sure where to post this. Though there are no tickets for sale from the Venue at tis time, the question I have is as follows:
There are two categories of standing tickets for the stalls. If I understand it correctly, the stalls is the standing area in front of the stage. They offer STALLS and then they offer STALLS-STALLS. They are the same price. To make it more confusing, for other acts they have from stalls or just plain standing. I tried emailing the venue and they didn't reply.
I could have bought tickets before they sold out but didn't know which ones to buy. Any help is appreciated and once I figure out which ticket to buy that is directly in front of the stage I am looking to buy one or two tickets.
Thanks so much!

This may be more for the annex, but since you pose the question, I have a spare ticket for this show, having inadvertently bought two. One is labelled "Stalls Standard" the other says "Gen Ad Standard". Both were the same price. For this venue the stalls are all standing.
I cannot see there would be any advantage of having seating behind a standing crowd, because the stage is quite low and with the shallow rake of the auditorium, anyone sitting at halfway back would see nothing over the heads of those standing.
PM me if you are interested in one of my tickets.

Re: Graham Parker Sheperd's Bush 10/26
Hello again,
It seems the answer is that anything that says stalls or general admission is general admission for the entire floor. As long as it doesn't say unreserved seating the ticket should work for me.
Thank to the board I have found one ticket.
I am still looking for one more stalls or general admission ticket if anyone has an extra.
Thanks!

Re: Graham Parker Sheperd's Bush 10/26
My first GP show and it was great. A mix of old material and a few from the new album "Three Chords Good". Setlist was as follows:
Fool's Gold
White Honey
Howlin' Wind
Thunder and Rain
Snake Oil Capital of the World
Lady Doctor
Old Soul
Black Honey
Stop Cryin' About the Rain
A Lie Gets Halfway 'round the World
Long Emotional Ride
Hotel Chambermaid
Soul on Ice
Discovering Japan
Don't Get Excited
Watch the Moon Come Down
Protection
Stupefaction
Local Girls
Encore:
Passion Is No Ordinary Word
Don't Ask Me Questions
Encore 2:
Soul Shoes
I Want You Back (The Jackson 5 cover)
I spotted Dave Robinson, (Founder of Stiff Records) at the bar, but no-one else of note in evidence. Martin Belmont and Brinsley Schwarz both excellent. If you get the chance, do catch this band. They have a return date at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in June 2014, so may play other UK dates too, although the shows outside London did not sell out (I understand) so we'll have to see.

They did a great show in Glasgow last Wednesday . Besides getting the confirmation that GP & co. really can dish it out just as good as they always can I got to meet a lot of fans that have only been names on GP forums etc. Similarly I link up with friends of friends etc. and ended up back stage with the the ensemble after the show. I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that I had good old chinwag with these heros of mine and finding them to be decent, straightforward blokes. My tired old brain is still trying trying to process it all!
Primo loot at the Glasgow gig - 30 quid , presigned - well worth it!

Quite right, Jackson. Tuesday night to be exact. Looking forward to seeing what song(s) GP and the guys perform. Hopefully those of us on this side of the pond will be treated with video quickly after the taping of the show.Jackson Monk wrote:GP on Later with Jools this week....
Caught them at their stop in Charlottesville, Virginia back in April of this year. Hard to imagine the band sounded as tight and as powerful as they did the last time I saw them live back in 1980.

The shorter version of "Later ... with Jools Holland" is available on the BBC i player here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b03gmc6b/
GP and the Rumour appear 18 minutes into the show and play "Long, Long, Emotional Ride".
Probably not available outside the UK until it appears on YouTube also.
Repeated in a longer time slot on Friday evening as usual.

Not my first GP & The Rumour gig but certainly first for 30+ years. I was at the Roundhouse gig supported by Andy Fairweather Low that he talked about in the introduction to Black Honey. Makes me feel old......

FFK - no offence intendedFishfinger king wrote:MOOT I resent this as I was there!!
I didn't say you weren't there, just that you weren't "in evidence". If you have been making regular trips to the bar at the back of the stalls I might have seen you, but it was very crowded. If I'd known you'd be there I would have looked out for you....

I wasn't being serious - no worries.
Got near the front and decided to forgo more beers (what's gotten into me?).
Makes you wonder why they didn't reform earlier , though, doesn't it?
