Defending Elvis w/ 3 R & R Songs - Converting casual fan
I've known an number of people in my age group (I'm 43) who say EC jumped the shark after Armed Forces (and that they only listen to the first 3 albums).
In his defense, I explain EC's diversity from Soul to Country to Classical to whatever. But I also say that he's still a rock & roller beyond the first three.
My question is.....if you were going to pick 3 rock & roll songs (other than songs from the first three records), to make your case, what would they be? (think toe-tappin, get up and dance till you're drenched-type songs)
Mine are (in chronological order):
1) Beaten To The Punch
2) I Hope You're Happy Now
3) Tear Off Your Own Head (It's a Doll Revolution)
