The New Beastie Boys To the 5 Boroughs?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

The New Beastie Boys To the 5 Boroughs?

Post by clairequilty »

Does anyone have an opinion on it?

I have not heard it yet.

Paul's Boutique is one of my all time favs, and I have heard TT5B compared to it.

Anyone?

I'm told that "Paul's Botique" is a very safe answer.

To the 5 Boroughs is an amazing cd. I would not compare it to Paul's Boutique. No other hip-hop album can touch that. Definatly check out the album.
I wish that I could push a button
And talk in the past and not the present tense
And watch this hurtin' feeling disappear
Like it was common sense
It was a fine idea at the time
Now it's a brilliant mistake

Thanks for the input.

I will definitely pick it up.

As for Paul's Boutique, I can't agree more. A masterpiece.

If you had Beatles White, Paul's Boutique and Imperial Bedroom on a desert island, you'd be home free until your volleyball deflated.

My current Beastie Ratings:

1. Paul's Boutique
2. Check Your Head
3. To the 5 Buroughs
4. Ill Communication
5. Hello Nasty

6. License to Ill

The new one is closing fast on #2. Standout Tracks include Triple Trouble, We Got The, and Crawlspace. I think it's maybe the most consistent record they've ever done. There's no filler. If there's no Sabotage or So Watcha Want either, then that would be the only thing lacking. There's no classic single, perhaps, but it's a great album. And that's probably better in the long run.
