CSN and Crowded House also on the bill,
Re: Elvis is supporting Macca at Hyde Park
CSN? Crowded House?
I'm assuming Big Country and Leo Sayer had previous commitments?

Neil Finn, EC, and Macca all in one night would cover 3 of my 10 favorite songwriters!

Re: Elvis is supporting Macca at Hyde Park
I'll be giving this one a miss - I can't justify the expenditure.
It's a shame as it means I'll miss the Sugarcanes shows. The pregnant Mrs VG has given me permission to go to three solo shows and I must admit I was excited about a London Sugarcanes show on 27th. I was disappointed to read it was supporting Mr Thumbs Aloft.
The other Sugarcanes shows are not within travelling distance should Mini VG2 decide to make an early appearance and I am required to come back in a hurry.
I can't see me getting another chance either.

Yes, friends of mine paid just under £50 each. I'm hoping to pick one up at less than that!
Expensive couple of weeks with EC @ Festival hall on the 20th then They Might Be Giants on the 26th then Macca on the 27th.

I paid £34.99 each for four tickets on ebay. They haven't turned up yet, but the seller's feedback was good so they should be ok.

Elvis can't feel the heat, it was in the high 80's that day. Jesus wearing a scarf, and a big cardigan. No wonder he's losing weight he must be sweating it out.
Having said that he's looking smarter these days.

Right? And some kind of hoodie--whatever that thing is with the stripes. And the hat. It's almost a little scary. I assume it's about keeping the throat, lungs & diaphragm warm and loose for singing (I suspect the proliferation of hats is more about preventing heat loss than covering the bald head). If so, it's obviously working (along with the mysterious "tea", which may contain soap, as Mr. Foyle suggested) because he sounds wonderful. But it seems pretty eccentric...and seriously--if you peeled him down to the bottom layer of all that...yikes! It's got to be like a swamp in there!sheeptotheslaughter wrote:Elvis can't feel the heat, it was in the high 80's that day. Jesus wearing a scarf, and a big cardigan.
So I keep this fancy to myself
