Mick Jones on "Big Tears"?

Post by The Walrus »

Hey Folks,

I know that Mick Jones performed on the studio cut, "Big Tears"...but...I was wondering, did he ever play it with Elvis again? Like a live performance or a BBC session or whatever?

Also, apparently he played on an early version of "Pump It Up", too...has that ever surfaced in any form?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

I'm not aware of any live performance with Mick Jones but the version of Pump it up to which you refer was recorded in 78 as part of This Year's Model Sessions. Apparently a different take was used on the album (at least Jones ism't credited) The take featuring Jones was remixed and first released on the 12" of The Only Flame In Town in August 1984. First CD release was on Singles box vol 3. Also known as "1984 Monster Mix" and "Dance Mix". Not to be confused with the Peel session, which doesn't feature Jones either, recorded in March 78 and released in 1992 on "One & Only-25 years of radio 1"
