Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes 6/16 Nashville
I follow the Ryman Auditorium on Twitter, and about an hour ago they posted this:
NEW: Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes (J Lauderdale/J Douglas/J Taylor/M Compton/S Duncan/D Crouch) - 6/16 @ 7:30 pm - on sale 4/3 @ 10 am
It's not on their site, but I'm pumped.

I'm really hoping for a Tulsa show at Cain's Ballroom. It would be great if he brought Wanda Jackson on stage again! By the way, I'm new to the board. Hello everyone!

Elvis Costello to Play The Ryman June 16
By Adam Gold in Cream Calendar

One artist we can always count on showing an annual allegiance to Nashville is Elvis Costello. Last week, we told you about Costello's forthcoming record Secret, Profane & Sugarcane--recorded with T Bone Burnett over a three-day Nashville session. Today he announced a June 16 appearance at The Ryman, during which he'll be backed by a new group of imposters called The Sugarcanes. The band features Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Douglas, Jeff Taylor, Mike Compton, Stuart Duncan & Dennis Crouch.
I've seen Costello--or as I call him, The Quentin Tarantino of rock--in various live incarnations and have never been disappointed. The man's voice has aged like wine. I'm sure the $35.50-$50.50 tickets, which go on sale this Friday, Apr. 3 at 10 a.m. here, will be worth it.

Bump.
Getting closer now, and I'm curious, as I am at every Ryman appearance, of what else might be in store. He almost always pulls out some kind of stop when he's in Nashville. Wonder what it could be this year. . .

I'll be at the Ryman show and also thought there might be something special in store. What sorts of things has he done in the past there?

Has anyone checked Emmylou's tour itinerary to see if a guest appearance is feasible?shendley wrote:I'll be at the Ryman show and also thought there might be something special in store. What sorts of things has he done in the past there?

She doesn't appear to have anything scheduled between tonight in Illinois and June 18 in Colorado.
Re: Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes 6/16 Nashville
I've got an extra ticket (5th row on the floor) for the Ryman show if anyone needs one.
Thanks!

I know, Legman. Wish you could be there. I love seeing him at the Ryman. And since I missed the Momo tour last year, I'm more than ready to see him again.

Wow, me too, WSS. I am hoping for KOA - but he's always in a special mood in Nashville. His country side always really comes out there. It's fun though. I'll be happy with whatever I get. . . .so long as there's at least SOME KOA on the setlist.
Man, I am so excited for this show. . . .all night in Nashville, no kids, first time to see Elvis in a while. . . it just HAS to be good!
