From listserv-
I may be totally off about this, but based on how Monday's show is
being promoted, it looks like Elvis will be there to do a little more
than just perform with Jenny Lewis. Ricky Gervais is doing the top
ten list, Paris Hilton is supposed to be the leadoff guest, and so the
#2 guest spot is wide open. Will there finally be some chat time?

It's a nice thought. Let's all hope for the best! Maybe Elvis will take the opportunity to get in an advance plug for Spectacle.

I actually have a Post-It note stuck to the TV screen so I don't forget.
Ohhh, Elvis, the things your fans do for you..... like sitting through a Paris Hilton appearance, just so we can see you !

ELVIS COSTELLO
Elvis has a new talk show on the Sundance Channel coming out in December, called "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with . . .". Elvis credits Dave and the Late Show for this opportunity and impetus for his new program. Back in March of 2003, Elvis hosted the Late Show when Dave was away in Mexico getting a tummy tuck and he was soon approached to host his own show. He interviews people from all walks of life, from Tony Bennett to Bill Clinton. Dave touts Paul Shaffer as an obvious guest Elvis would want, and Dave volunteers himself for that guest list.
"Spectacle" -- premieres Wednesday, December 3rd on the Sundance Channel.

Jenny is a cutie pie, besides having loads of talent! Jonanthon Rice wrote a pretty darned great song . . . but should leave the vocals to Jenny.

Son of a Bitch! Didn't catch this thread. I actually watched the whole horrible Paris Hilton interview and then decided that it must be downhill from there and turned the channel without knowing about Elvis.
Damn, my sense of timing is sucking more and more in my old age. . . . .

Hard to deny Jenny's certain something, but I don't think its that great of a single, and Elvis seems in competition with the hairy boyfriend. Weird performance.
And carpetbagger?? Are they singing about Hilary or Palin? Too many "oh yeahs".

Fortunately I taped it so I could fast forward through Paris. Nice performance but I was alittle disappointed in Elvis's interview. It seemed like David was trying to engage him in conversation about Clinton and Elvis just wanted to mention all the guests. Still worth watching.
