Random Thoughts

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

I've heard of a March hair but not a February one...

I know Otis.

I was torn whether or not to spell it as hair or hare as it was a phonetic joke. It would appear that it didn't work.

Next time I try I'll get somebody else correcting me.

What is the comedic etiquette in situations like this?

Would a Bobby Charlton combover on a blustery spring day count as a mad March hair ?
I expect a coherent reply from Otis mocking Alan Sunderland's perm for my troubles!
PS a joke by VG that doesn't work, surely not ?

I believe in reincarnation. I hope that Hitler came back as a Jew.

Following on from that, if you were to be reincarnated, who would you like to come back as?

If there were such a thing, would love a second chance to come back as myself in order to see if I could get a few more things right given a second time around, not waste the opportunities that were once there.

That reminds me of a line in a song by Squeeze called Wicked and Cruel

"If I came back as her
Would I love me?"

If I came back as me I'd need quite a few reincarnations before I got things right.

Surely, you can't come back as somebody who is already here and as you can't know anybody who isn't born yet, you can't choose at all.....or something like that :?

Am I making any sense???

Well, I would like to think of it in terms of the conceit played with in Here Comes Mr. Jordan where Robert Montgomery comes back as himself but in another body or the update with Warren Beatty.

Or there's always the option of inhabiting one half of somebody as Lily Tomlin's character did to Steve Martin in All Of Me.

Now that is too bizarre for me- I can still see him dragging his foot along the side walk lurching out of the car- an inspired bit of physical comedy but too Jeckyl and Hyde for me.

Who knows?

Maybe liking Elvis is one of my mistakes and in a second chance at my life I'd dislike music and be able to dance ie the opposite to my current life

Not being able to dance is a prerequisite to liking Elvis - witness the first few rows at any EC concert.

I have always said that if there is re-incarnation, I'd want to come back as one of our dogs - though as they're both rescues, they have had traumatic starts to their lives,. However once picked my Mrs. Sulky and the girls, they seem to have reached dog Nirvana.
I'd also like to come back as someone who didn't always see both sides of any argument and consequently be able to make decisions and not procrastinate quite so much.

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, 'Stuff You Should Know'. The topic was decapitation. Did you know that because the brain is still intact after decapitation facial expressions are still possible. It takes app. four second until death occurs. Creepy.

Freaky!

I should think that with my brain it would only be about a nanosecond.

It's been a bank holiday in England and we've had friends over for the afternoon.

We've sat on the patio, having a good chat, no alcohol and watching the kids on the trampoline and playing in glorious sunshine so I know what you mean migdd.

And 10 minutes after we cleared up outside, the heavens opened and it's now been raining for about 3 hours.
