One of the many reasons I want a boyfriend. Snacks, letters and sodas.

1. Letters and sodas, letters and sodas. I agree heartily.

2. Why does the whole Mel Gibson thing not surprise me??

3. My boss has closed the office tomorrow on account of heat (projected 100'+). I'm pretty lucky.

I've got a ham roll in a cheese bap that I made for my lunch that you can have. There's also a Snickers bar and a Cadbury's Dairy Milk with Caramel in my draw that you can have. I don't have any soda though. Sorry.

Having just looked through my draw there is a Best New Music CD from Q magazine called Rise and Shine from 2002 which is still in its cellophane.

I haven't eaten meat in thirteen and a half years and I haven't eaten sugar in three weeks (besides a mango sorbet that I really, really needed). But thanks for the thought, anyway.

The bad news is that I may have a slight problem with the IRS. The good news is that I found my Lucinda Williams tickets while looking through my 2004 tax stuff.
Everyone just needs to fuckin’ relax. Smoke more weed, the world is ending.

Is there such a thing as a "slight" problem with the IRS?

I hope these weren't tickets for a 2004 show!

Good to see Joe Lieberman take one on the chin tonight. Unfortunately the pantload now wants to run as an independent, so we may have to put up with another six years of his ugly kowtowing and boring moralizing. What an egomaniac. I was down at a business meeting in Stamford today and saw his minions squaring off with Ned Lamont supporters across one intersection. Got a little feisty at one point.

Still, a long overdue bad sign for the Republicans I think. If there's any justice in the world the GOP will get its clock cleaned in November.

First, make sure you have a boyfriend who will make sure you have enough snacks and soda...

And that's where the trouble begins.

Umm, you'll need fabric too, MBA. Do you have fabric?

Or some old jeans or something to make curtains out of. . . . .

Kind of Scarlet-in-reverse, making curtains out of clothes.

Sheets work well, I'm told, MBA.

Whatcha need to know mba? My wife's pretty handy with a sewing machine and that sort of thing - I'd be happy to ask her on your behalf.

I have fabric!

I guess what I need to know is...can it be as intuitive as I'm intuiting? Do I just hem all the sides and stitch the top around a curtain rod?

And where does one buy a curtain rod?

The easiest thing to do is to fold a flap over where the top of the curtains will be and run two straight lines of stitching around 2 inches apart - the curtain rod will need to fit in between these two lines. You can leave some extra fabric at the top for a ruffle if you like. Then just turn up a bit of fabric on the bottom if you want a hem - or you could put some special ribbon or trim on the bottom. The possibilities are endless. :)

The expert replies:

"It's really not that hard if you're fair at sewing, but the thing to consider is if you want them lined (which is a little harder to do). Make sure that the gathers aren't too much or too little (so use the material before you cut it, to hold it up and see how you think it's going to look.) Curtain rods - Target's good."

Get sewing so lack!
