Thank you guest.

I fully agree that mp3's should never be used for trading, but find that they're very convenient for giveaways to people with restricted bandwidth and/or diskspace. Good for iPods too.

I promise faithfully that if I have a show in silver disc format I'll upload it as FLAC, shn or wav, prerably as bit torrent, otherwise I'll upload it as an mp3 and assume that nobody will use it for trading purposes.

wav is acceptable over mp3?

I understand the technicality that mp3s compress sound, but I have ripped mp3's and in a lot of cases simply downloaded them- then compared them directly to the Compact Disc counterpart... with no quality difference to the naked ear.

Run-on's aside, mp3s have been very good to me. I have read that a lot of the internet-trading world is anti-mp3 (funny how it's the section of the internet trading-world who uses IRC or the less-thann-simple programs to find their material- seems a bit elitest to me, and elitest is always for the sake of nothing).

I don't know, shoot me. 8)
