E.C. in American Association of Retired Persons mag.

Post by johnfoyle »

Rozy reports on listserv -

The July/Aug issue of AARP (formerly the American Association of
Retired Persons) Magazine features an absolutely awful caricature of EC in recognition of his 50th birthday. It shows his head stuck on the neck of
a guitar with the tuners around his ears---yikes!! The short paragraph
(titled "Specs Appeal") accompanying the drawing calls him a
"geek-chic hero" who gained fame writing "quirky classics" and who "recently married jazz siren Diana Krall."

Rozy (no further comment besides "eeeew...")

I'm stunned that OS didn't report this first.
Like me, the "g" is silent.

Yeah, me too, Moody. I guess he's not keeping up with the magazines and newsletters that come with his membership.

BTW, "Jazz Siren"??????? Come on.
