No-one in UK yet allows pre-orders for Deluxe CD(s) (inferior downloads from e.g. my iTunes or amazon available in advance of course...).

Having been blown away by the rip-off Dylan Bootleg 11 6-CD set a week earlier probably, I wonder if to 'touche' Costello might release an album of covers ...

I am fortunate to have already 116 of the Dylan 138 tracks, and will buy the others to add to the 2-CD Dylan Bootleg 11 set (with only 1 track not otherwise available on plastic commercial disc).

In fact, I want to buy only the 'Lost On The River - The New Basement Tapes' deluxe CD(s) tracks on which Costello performs.

I often in UK buy stuff from USA, but delivery in UK for LOTR seems to be listed as December ...

So far, I have been able in UK to order from UK 6 other audio-video discs due out November 3rd-10th ...

The 3 tracks so far are 'variable' - I prefer any with Costello maybe contributing ...
No need to worry. It's still six weeks before Lost On The River will come out.
By that time we will be able to order the deluxe edition in the UK.
It was the same with Wise Up Ghost. You could pre-order it much earlier in the US than in the UK.
But in the end, it was available on the releasedate in the UK.
Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Some U.K. media friends have received promo copies. They won't leak it but I'd be surprised if someone else does do so pretty soon.

I believe that's Marcus Mumford singing again.

Million Dollar Bash
Bob Dylan, The Band, and the Basement Tapes: Revised & Updated Edition
Sid Griffin

November 2014
ISBN 978-1-908279-69-9
6 x 8.5 in (150 x 212 mm)
328pp
$19.95 / £14.95

It’s 1967, the Summer of Love, and Bob Dylan is holed up in Woodstock with a group of musicians once known as The Hawks, laying down a set of recordings that will soon turn the music world on its head. These recordings – the Basement Tapes – would not be released commercially by Dylan at first, but would emerge in the form of cover versions by acts such as The Byrds, Manfred Mann, and Peter Paul & Mary. Together, they would inspire a homespun, back-to-basics approach in the work of The Beatles, the Stones, the Grateful Dead, and many others, while also kick-starting the entire Americana genre.

In this fully revised and updated edition – published to coincide with the release of dozens of previously unreleased Basement Tapes recordings, a major new documentary about the period, and the T Bone Burnett-produced Lost On The River album – author and musician Sid Griffin is given unique access to a cache of more than 40 never-before-heard Basement Tapes recordings, allowing him to shine even greater light on this pivotal yet often misunderstood moment in popular music history.

Of the first 4 tracks we've heard, this one is my favorite.

.. ta for link - track sounds fine - I look forward to receive the Deluxe CD version so I might be able to find out who does what ...

Know that I should just wait and buy only the DPAM-contributing stuff, but life's too short - even ordered the overpriced Bob 6-CD set for similar reason ...

Looks like I was wrong about EC waiting until the record came out before he'd start playing songs from LOTR...

(Lost On The River, that is. I maintain my opinion that he will still play no songs from Lord Of The Rings in the next month!)

The fifth (and final?) preview track is Taylor Goldsmith's "Liberty Street":

Most of the lyrics are the same as EC's Six Months In Kansas City (Liberty Street), but they sound almost nothing alike.

Hmm. I'm sad that EC's version didn't make the record-- I prefer it to that version AND I like it more than the other EC tracks so far (the other live ones plus the preview track.)

There will be three versions of Kansas City on the album, including Elvis his version: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_on ... ment_Tapes

Oh great! I got confused with that one and "Matthew Met Mary." I'm glad EC's Kansas City made the cut!

It's easy to get confused with this album. While "Liberty Street" and "Six Months In Kansas City (Liberty Street)" are based on the same lyrics, "Kansas City" is an entirely separate song.

Somewhat qualified love for the New Basement Tapes in the UK music monthlies. Mojo & Uncut have it as the full page lead in to their review sections whereas Q dispatch it with a paragraph.
