Something On Your Mind and Katie Cruel really are as good as it gets. (I only found a battered copy of the vinyl after hearing the latter on the "Original Seeds - songs that inspied Nick Cave" comp a couple of years ago. I'm so glad it's rereleased now.)

On another note, I heard a song by Hold Steady the other day. They sounded a bit like a less annoying Randy Newman being backed by the Attractions circa PLU. Anyone like them?

(Btw, I LOVE Randy Newman's voice, but it sure has annoyed people around me)

I got this album a few months back. I love the simplicity of it, the repetitiviness of some of the songs are saved by the underlying production of Daniel Lanois. it's probably one of the most cohesive albums Dylan has made. It sounds like it's lost somwhere aching to get back. "Political World" is such great starter. This is rapidly becoming one of my favorites.

You'll love Modern Times then (if you don't already), both are very easy to listen to from start to finish.

I am listening to my CD circle playlist before I burn it to see if it "flows." It doesn't, yet, but I have faith in my own powers of mixmaking.
