Can I ask for a cover ? I always liked his version of 'Psycho' (I have the live recordings at the Palomini Club - Hollywood) - could have been his lyricks:
Can mary fry some fish, mama
I'm as hungry as can be
Oh lord, how i wish, mama
You could stop the baby cryin'
'cause my head is killing me
I saw my ex again last night mama
She was at the dance at miller's store
She was with that jackie white mama
I killed them both
And they're buried under jacob's sycamore
You think i'm psycho don't you mama
I didn't mean to break your cup
You think i'm psycho don't you mama
You better let 'em lock me up
Oh, don't hand me johnny's pup mama
As i might squeeze him too tight
I'm havin' crazy dreams again mama
So let me tell you 'bout last night
I woke up in johnny's room mama
Standing right there by his bed
With my hands around his throat mama
Wishing both of us were dead
You think i'm psycho don't you mama
I just killed johnny's pup
You think i'm psycho don't you mama
You'd better let 'em lock me up
Oh you recall that little girl mama
I believe her name was betty clark
Oh don't tell me that she's dead mama
'cause i just saw her in the park
We were sitting on a bench mama
Thinking of a game to play
Seems i was holding a wrench mama
Then my mind just walked away
You think i'm psycho don't you mama
I didn't mean to break your cup
You think i'm psycho don't you mama
Mama why don't you get up?
These great lines are written by Leon Payne, who wrote songs for Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, George Jones...

Beyond Belief
my new fav elvis song, really, it's the one. AND when i heard him do it in Boston recently, i hadn't heard it before. so it didn't really register. if i could hear it NOW, i'd be transported. somebody would have to tether me to the earth.

Yaay For All of Us!
I requested 'So Like Candy' cause his voice is just too beautiful when he does it! Plus, I knew you all would cover the other great bases.

Mr. Boom, you are correct. We have neglected to say welcome to some of the new members. I guess we all just try to remain guarded after some past incidents.
Plus we're all just greedy when we talk about our personal request Elvis.
Welcome to the new members and hello again to Liam, who we haven't seen much of since he posted his recent pic with Elvis.

Should've picked The Imposter!
Wow, I'm digging Get Happy! I've never even heard most of these songs before last week! They're SO GREAT!

Loving this board since before When I Was Cruel.
Ever the gentlemen, Mike Boom.
Yes, a big welcome to BlondeTrophyWife from Bobster, who really hates to refer to himself in the third person.
Anyhow, in my earlier post, yes, I had it wrong. Obviously meant BLACK Sails in the Sunset, though I love Nat King Cole and wouldn't mind a medley (even if I can barely remember how "Red Sails" goes).
Actually, though, I went with "You'll Never Be a Man" -- not sure what bodily functions will malfunction if he plays it, but they'll be good kind of malfuncitons. Still, good choices, all -- particularly would love to hear "Motel Matches" or "Riot Act".

Speaking of Nat Cole, I requested he do a cover of STARDUST. Cause he really needs to sing that, and the NORTH period is the time!
LTZ, how I'd love to be discovering GET HAPPY! for the first time. Though I almost feel like I am, not just causa the new bonus disk, but also b/c of the remastering-- my old CD copy was kee-rap.
And btw, Welcome, BTW.

Yes on all accounts SelfMadeSweetie!
Yes, I have a vinyl copy of Get Happy, but it sounded terrible, so this CD is really my first REAL hearing of the album. And it's SO great! It's been in my car cd player since I bought it! I think the longevity in the car might be due to the fact that there's 20 FREAKING songs on that bad boy! I love it!!
Yes, Elvis should cover Nat King Cole. Although Elvis is my favorite, and The Very Thought of You is my favorite, his cover of the song was not my favorite. I would LOVE to hear him take another crack at a song by the masterful Nat King Cole. ESPECIALLY NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
