Found this article on the controversial Australian 1978 tour. Very interesting read....

Thanks - it’s an enjoyable read.

I never had the dubious pleasure of meeting Jake, but have always found the band, Frankie (Steve’s technician), Paddy and now Chris to be great.

Jill Taylor was always very nice to me, very approachable and very chatty.

That’s one of the joys of having a recognisable face

Perhaps there should be a thread on My Encounter(s) With Jake Riviera.

I’d love to hear the stories.

I never met Jake that i recall. Now PADDY was always a heavenly encounter. I loved when he would yell at me for smoking a Marlboro Menthol within a block of Elvis. . OR refusing a photo opp together for faux fear of I.R.S. F.B.I. or C.I.A. concerns. :D great guy. But, Chris?...

Great stories, BA
I remember waiting outside after one show and Paddy rolling his eyes and saying "What, you again !" but he never gave me any grief and always let me meet Elvis. Never had any issues with Chris though I'm not as friendly with him as VG.
And BA, surely a man of the world like you should have been smoking "Gitanes " !

I had my GITANES era, of course. Oh, yes....Paddy was always just faking the ANGRY OLD GRUMP. With always an impish smile in tow. As opposed to the current imp proper.
