London meet up - Saturday 27th January

Post by verbal gymnastics »

A London meet up has been arranged on Saturday 27th January from 2pm at our now usual haunt of the Woodin Shades.

https://www.nicholsonspubs.co.uk/restau ... gatelondon

So far there are most of the usual suspects such as

Johnfoyle
Sheeptotheslaughter
Sulky lad
Neil.
Iansephton
Ajhorrocks
Solackustre (subject to availability)

with some other people also highly likely to be there!

There won't be much Elvis activity to talk about although we can speculate about the Las Vegas shows and any UK shows for this year.

Neil. has posted about Elvis adapting some of the Painted from memory musical songs into either a ballet or opera and, given his penchant for a musical, will no doubt burst into song at some stage to demonstrate how it could be done. That will be worth coming along for in its own right...

So come one come all for the forum's highest anticipated event of 2018 to date.

Cheers
VG

Verbal, all you have to do is say it and I'll sing it!

See you on the 27th! We'll have that Burt charity gig to discuss, at least x

Terry Staunton thanked me for the invitation to this and says he has ' put it in his diary. '

And there was thinking I had as Morrissey once said a 'lovely singing voice' :D

I will pop in early next week and try and book a couple of tables

Thanks all for another great afternoon. It was great to hear all the news etc.

Susan Maria Mikus in Philadelphia hopes to be in London in September and hopes we could schedule a meet up for September 29th. I know it's all way in the future but I thought I'd let you know.

Thanks to Andy Hayes for this photo

Tony, me & Chrissie were delighted to get the flyer for the Vegas show. Michael in LA had sent me a bundle of them to hand out.

It was a great afternoon with 14 of us all told, with some new friends as well as old ones.

Thanks as ever to sulky lad for the CDs.

I always feel a bit hesitant when the police van parks outside though

And Neil. lasted about a minute before he started singing!

Always a joy to meet everyone, and to find Mark is about to be overtaken in the putting stakes by his son (!)
I'll be sending emails out to those I promised soon, hope the CDs live up to expectations !
