Maybe they're upset that some of the Forum members (especially Neil.) couldn't see it so they're rectifying it

Re: New Elvis song in "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool"
I am sure Elvis's people organise things around my rabid fandom, so I hope it's up and running again soon. My only other option is seeing the film - which I a defo wanna do,as it's right up my alley!verbal gymnastics wrote:Maybe they're upset that some of the Forum members (especially Neil.) couldn't see it so they're rectifying it

30 seconds play , for me , via iTunes. Sounds like a good tune.
Re: New Elvis song in "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool"
If you log in to ITunes and search for the title you will find the video. I had to sign up for a 3 month trial, which I will have to remember to cancel. Good song, reminds me of something from North.
Looks like the official release, at least in the UK, is 10 Nov.

From Elvis' website. A new single

Elvis Costello New Single ‘You Shouldn’t Look At Me That Way’ Out 10th Nov
The one and only Elvis Costello releases a brand new song
‘You Shouldn’t Look At Me That Way’, written especially for the forthcoming movie ‘Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool’ (available from November 10th on Decca Records).
Written, orchestrated and performed by Elvis Costello, this sublime tune can be heard in the upcoming ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ based on Peter Turner’s memoir about his relationship with eccentric Academy Award winning actress Gloria Grahame. The film stars Jamie Bell and Annette Bening and is generating much pre-release acclaim.
It’s no coincidence that Elvis Costello was keen to write a song for the project as he was already intrigued by Gloria Grahame’s life story. Producers Barbara Broccoli, Colin Vaines and director Paul McGuigan caught an Elvis Costello show at the London Palladium and were all delighted and surprised to see Grahame’s picture appear on the TV screen visuals during the song ‘Church Underground’.
“It must have been quite startling for Barbara, Colin and Paul,” Elvis laughs.
“ ‘You Shouldn’t Look At Me That Way’ is a song dealing with two people who have a lot of secrets. They were in a relationship and perhaps had difficulty seeing each other as they really were. All lovers have secrets. One lover has some vanity but also a lot of vulnerability. The title really came from that. It could refer to a seductive gaze but also a plea not to be judged.”
Directed by Paul Mcguigan and based on Peter Turner’s memoir, the film follows the playful but passionate relationship between Turner (Bell) and the eccentric Academy Award®-winning actress Gloria Grahame (Bening) in 1978 Liverpool. What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship, with Turner being the person Gloria turns to for comfort. Their passion and lust for life is tested to the limits by events beyond their control. View the trailer here
Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool will be released on 16 November 2017 through Lionsgate UK.

Re: New Elvis song in "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool"
what does that mean nowadays, "releasing a single?" used to mean there was a flip side to anticipate, or further tracks on a cd, or at least an object to purchase. is it just a download, then? if so, my own terrible afflictions regarding this method of 'release' deprive me once again. still doesn't seem real. ah well.

Excellent - instantly catchy chorus! Elvis doesn't half come up with some great melodies. The video kept buffering, but it looked good. Love the piano riff. Beefy production, too.

Re: New Elvis song in "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool"
The film's UK release seems to be 17th November.
There's a preview show at Liverpool's Picturehouse at FACT on Monday 13th, with a Q+A to follow.
I assume that the Q+A will not include our man, but he does have the date free.......
