Am I mistaken, or is that Costello/Nieve "I Want You" a rarity, at the very least?

This song was played by Elvis and Steve many times on the 1999 "Lonely World Tour" and again on their 2003 European Tour.
A full list of performances of this song is here: Performances of I Want You

Prior to the San Sebastian show, the most recent EC/SN performance of this song was in Brussels in October 2014: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/inde ... 1_Brussels, so not that much of a rarity when Elvis and Steve perform together.

I should have been more specific.
I don't recall Nieve playing on that particular song.

I'd thought that Costello played it solo in the multiple Costello/Nieve shows that I've seen.

"ELVIS COSTELLO
La corte del otro Rey

9/10
Recinto: Auditorio Kursaal | Fecha: 06 junio, 2016 | Promotor: Kursaal Eszena

The Beatles.

Habló a borbotones.

"The court of another king

9/10
Venue: Auditorium Kursaal | Date: June 6, 2016 | Promoter: Kursaal Eszena

Elvis Costello we have seen many times in Arabian formations and combinations. He lacked hitting the road solo fortunate that his close friend and partner Nick Lowe takes years practicing sufficiency and sobriety. Lowe is just a guitar and his warm voice to get us all in your pocket. Costello has raised just rotates counter plane, playing in a diametrically opposite league, associated with the show, interpretation, autoconfesión and, why not say, excessive and exhibition.

In "Elvis Costello Detour" fit several concerts-even artísticos- genres in one. And not just for the duration of their show in San Sebastian, which exceeded two and half hours and took on a look of springsteeniano musical marathon. The staging is fully attached to the theater or television format, with a dominant vintage display in the center of the stage, a grand piano on one side and a welcoming other, where a wooden chair earned him space to sit, wear a hat and joke that he was his own special guest. There was more sedate and demure, with a naked version bossa nova and almost "Toledo" and the inevitable "She".

Each space was serving a specific function that divided the performance in different acts. Costello showed chameleonic as played the piano and set in crooner ( "Shipbulding" ended in a burst of applause) mode, caressing the guitar ( "Everyday I write a book", which said half jokingly that he hated) you got effects and noises everywhere ( "Watching the detectives" sounded especially furious) or sprawled in the chair flamenco singer as if he were on the porch of his summer home telling stories to his nephews. He spoke of his father, also a musician, who apparently had agreed on a television show in the early 60s with a previously unknown group called ... The Beatles.

He spoke in spurts. The scheme -plagado anecdotes, autobiographical references interruptions and illustrated with elegant images in black and white on the television Costello pushes him to exploit his acting skills. It is an excellent actor and storyteller. It is a showman. A total artist. However, in a non-English speaking country like ours you can leave the viewer out of play and, perhaps for that reason, a dozen people left their seats in the middle of the function.

Or maybe not seduced by a polyhedral, operatic and tireless vedette someone said outside that had reminded Rufus Wainwright. He sang "Alison" hair almost blending into the audience stood for the first time to thank the feat. At 10 pm he brokered an American striped which gave it a prankster, but harmless badass air, like the character of Michael Keaton in Beetlejuice. It had been two hours from the start fun with the video for "Monkey to Man".

And when it seemed that everything ended with the vocal power of "American mirror" dropped the bomb: his usual pianist, Steve Nieve, he was in the audience. He jumped from the seats to the stage to play in duo format about 20 minutes more than expected by the organisers. An extended version of "I want you" was the icing on a concert that based on the recent book on the English musician Xavier Valiño journalist, "The Man Who Would Be King", the Kursaal was the court of Elvis Costello. "

I don't understand that reference to Nick Lowe, but perhaps someone can explain it?
