TORRENT BANNED FROM DIME!

Ban requested by Macklam Feldman Management, which represents Elvis Costello.
Too late for me to grab it!

My assumption is that their swift action on this implies that maybe there will be some official release of this at some point, but maybe that's me searching for a silver lining?

In any case, I wish I could have grabbed it-- I would still obviously purchase any official release that would come out of this amazing show, but I would have also liked to enjoy the full thing that doc lovingly put together. I guess we can be thankful it's still up on YouTube, albeit in segments...

All the Brooklyn Bowl torrents on Dime (my audience audio, tamlyn's FM source, my audience DVD) have been banned by the management company. I hope you're right about the official release, but I saw no professional video equipment that night. There was one guy on the stage with a stationary video camera focused on Elvis and a handheld camera. His footage, along with an audience camera and a thrid stage camera, was used for the Okayplayer uploads on YouTube:

Disappointing for me...

Those rehearsal videos are fantastic! Its such a crime EC did not do a full blown tour with the Roots, though I realize why that could not happen. Guess I will have to make do with the AWESOME video from Doc, which I luckily was able to download before it was banned.

Love those rehearsal videos too. Best version of Cinco yet. Nice find ANCT.

I'm still on a high from that Brooklyn show. Already two months ago and it still seems fresh. Just talking about it in Port Chester with Connor and Mike the Lawyer reminded me how cool it was to be there, elbows on stage, taking it all in. I'd love to see them perform again but it seems unlikely, which is a freakin' crime. I'll continue to tweet at Steve Mandel to get these guys to perform again, probably to little avail.

My DVD was banned from Dime, but it is available elsewhere both in DVD and Blu-ray format. You can PM me if you need more info.

I just watched it. It's a 3:30 mix of clips from the Brooklyn Bowl show and the EC/Quest interview in The Roots rehearsal room at 30 Rock. Nothing special, but good for completists like me.

The Brooklyn Vegan posted a short review and a full set of photos by Dana Yavin (some colour, some b/w) on September 18, 2013.

"Elvis Costello & The Roots celebrated ‘Wise Up Ghost’ at Brooklyn Bowl and on ‘Fallon’ (pics, setlist, streams & video)

There’s a lot of strategic repurposing throughout “Wise Up Ghost,” and there was even more in the show. Some of this was as straightforward as an older tune given a fresh makeover: the Roots, working with a strong horn section, brought a sinister funk vibe to “Shabby Doll” and turned up the heat on “Spooky Girlfriend,” which also featured a spirited vocal turn by La Marisoul of the Los Angeles band La Santa Cecilia.
And in the accumulative, deep-swirl crescendo on “I Want You,” there was a knowing echo of “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” by John Lennon. It’s not hard to picture Questlove and Mr. Costello arriving together at that idea; in any case, another Lennon tune, “I Found Out,” served as a rawboned final encore, plunging toward Afro-punk. – [NY Times]

Elvis Costello & The Roots celebrated the release of their collaborative album, Wise Up Ghost, on Monday (9/16) with a show at Brooklyn Bowl. In addition to playing much of the new record, EC peppered the set with a few classics like “Watching the Detectives” and “Pump it Up” and covered The Specials’ “Ghost Town.” They also welcomed Diane Birch and La Marisoul to sing on a few songs too. Pictures and setlist from the show are in this post and you can stream an archive of the show over at WFUV.

Then last night (9/17) Costello stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon — where The Roots are the house band — to play “Walk Us Uptown” on the show and “Tripwire” as an online exclusive. Costello, ever the witty raconteur, also talked with Jimmy about how the collaboration came to be. Video of that is in this post too.

While EC & The Roots don’t have any other collaborative shows happening just yet, Costello does have some solo shows coming up next month, including two at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre. The first (11/11) is sold out but tickets are still available for the second (11/12)."

Here are just a few of the photos, the rest are available at the link above.
