Elvis and Colbert are getting along famously these days. If you're going to have a friend high up in the business, Colbert seems like a pretty darn good one to have.
Received an excited near late night call from my middle daughter last evening ordering me to turn on the tube- she being a Colbert fan- pleasantly surprised to encounter this. I appreciate it when he lets his 'hair' down and plays the archivist. Should be doing this more often on his own program. They make a passing good imitation of the Weavers and I am reasonably certain Mr. Seeger[in my town] would have enjoyed their version and would more than likely have grabbed his banjo and joined in given the opportunity.
"....there's a merry song that starts in 'I' and ends in 'You', as many famous pop songs do....'
We can't in England, UK, Europe get full Colbert web-show, so if anyone could share e.g. mp3 of colbertnation.com FULL versions of 3 Costello songs (e.g. Goodnight Irene), quite a few more would be pleased/grateful.
Fine topic/some of us in England - blah blah - share folk-stuff (e.g. Fred Wedlock doing Goodnight Irene...).
