Elvis lines through Bad Translator
Bad Translator is a website that runs a line of text you enter through several rounds of translation and back to the original language, often resulting in gibberish and non-sequiturs. I've been having too much fun with it today.
For example:
From "No Action": "I don't wanna kiss you, I don't wanna touch. I don't wanna see you 'cause I don't miss you that much."
After 35 translations and back to English, turns to: "It is not necessary to be so far! Much hope was lost."
From "I'll Wear it Proudly": "Were your arms and legs wrapped round more than my memory tonight?"
turns to: "President, I apologize, it's oral and crazy."
From "New Lace Sleeves": "The salty lips of the socialite sisters with their continental fingers that have never seen working blisters. Oh I know they've got their problems, I wish I was one of them."
turns into: "Sister, never from the African continent. Start the burner. I know these things."
Try your own!

Re: Elvis lines through Bad Translator
Oh, this is fantastic.
The Other Side of Summer
The sun struggles up, another beautiful day
And I felt glad in my own suspicious way
became:
Its success
Beyond Belief
I might make it California's fault
Be locked in Geneva's deepest vault
Just like the canals of Mars and the Great Barrier Reef
I come to you beyond belief
became:
Best deals: Reef and VaultJus stones FaultB voice of California (Geneva)
(It has particular trouble when proper nouns are involved, it seems.)
Sneaky Feelings
We could sit like lovers staring in each other's eyes but the magic of the moment might become too much for you
became:
Now I see where good magic

This is some funny shit but quite tragically it is indicative of why there is so much animosity throughout the world...we simply don't understand each other.

Re: Elvis lines through Bad Translator
It does seem to have the ability to whittle a lyric down to its core message.
I tried it with some non-EC songs yesterday.
Original text:
"Who let the dogs out? Who, who who who who?"
...35 translations later Bing gives us:
"Dog? Where is he?"
Original text:
"All the girlies say I'm pretty fly for a white guy."
...35 translations later Bing gives us:
"Beautiful girl is empty."
Original text:
"And I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand."
...35 translations later Bing gives us:
"Yeah, the world."
Original text:
"Nothing compares to you."
...35 translations later Bing gives us:
"You are nothing."
Original text:
"Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?"
...35 translations later Bing gives us:
"Everything good?"
I love the internet.
