I can't even imagine David Crosby doing "Almost Ideal Eyes", whom it was initially written for; but I would love to hear it.

If you can get Elvis Presley to come sing "Lovable," I suspect MSG will give you any job you want.

I'd love to hear Beck sing Watching the Detectives. Sounds like his kind of song.

Two Elvis songs strike me as songs that would be great for Franz Ferdinand: Mystery Dance and Senior Service.

In terms of current artists who could promote Elvis's songs to a wider audience, I think Michael Buble would be the man to cover Impatience and A Voice In The Dark.

Motel Matches should be a standard ballad - everyone should be covering it.

I can also imagine Adele singing Little Triggers.

I had a similar thought once, but instead of covering "Impatience" or "A Voice in the Dark" it was "his mouth with duct tape."

I would have loved to hear Susannah McCorkle tackle "Fallen"[I realize the song choice could be construed as a comment on the sad end to her life, but it is not]. She had the baggage to handle that song, however. Perhaps a few others in the catalog, as well.

If I am picking from an active performer, would welcome a go at "Impatience" by Diane Reeves. Or if that is not possible, a go at it, by John Pizzarelli and his wife, Jessica Molaskey. They certainly would catch the insoucient quality of that song.

That one is priceless-am still amused after a day to think about it.

Ray Davies - Mr. Feathers.

I always thought that song had a Kinkish vibe to it.

I like that choice. Not an implausible one at all. That song would be particularly well served by that artist.
