Erstwhile board frequenter Jackson Doofster Monk texts me at work to ask which show I'm going to and sends me a link with some of the dates on, so I'm thinking 'nice, will get my ass down to the RAH', but now after midnight and finally able to look at the internet for the first time, bugger me backwards, he's only playing in my home town of Cambridge at the Corn Ex!!!! I do believe it's his first show in this town since a 1979 May Ball or something. I did look once, maybe one or two 80s shows, but certainly not in my 20 years here, other than the Folk Festival once solo, which I was away for.
Ideally I'd go to both, but heck, son at university and all that. And just rolling up on my bike and back after will be so easy.
Will be feverishly sitting down on Fri am to book.
Schön, wunderbar, ausgezeichnet.
And So Lack will be happy too with a local night for him ending the tour.
Just talking to Mrs Sheep we might try and make Cambridge and stay for the weekend. Can you recommend somewhere near the Corn Exchange,

Depends on your budget, but expensive end of the spectrum near there are Crowne Plaza and, nicest, Doubletree Hilton. bit cheaper would be Royal Cambridge. Slightly further but easily walkable and pretty decent is the Regent. Or the huge University Arms. Can't think of any smaller B & B options nearby there.
Hoping it will be stand-up. Many of the other venues will be sit-down. Sit-down at Corn Ex is never good, whereas being packed in down the front is great fun. Sound used to be naff there, but I've found it always good in the last 5 years or so.

Agh, the London gig is the Albert Hall! Bah! Don't like that place as a rock venue - surely he'll never fill it? I might go down to Brighton instead.

Thanks Otis.
I believe it is the Bank Holiday that weekend as well. I think we will make a weekend of it. My brother lives in Peterboro so I think we will spend some time at his as well.
Must try and get to the RAH as well.
Lets hope for Elvis's sake the tickets sell well and he ahs the same success as in the States
Re: Elvis/'Spinning , UK tour , May 2012
I'll be there on Friday getting some Glasgow tickets for Elvis show No 38. Might hang fire though, waiting for a chance to buy a "premium" ticket, for £100, with free plectrum, signed copy of the autobiography and a place in the lucky dip for one of Elvis's used towels.

Anyone got any idea about the presales? I'm interested in the Brighton one.

That's the week later (you had me going there as I'm at a wedding that Saturday!). Comes late next year. Ties in with some royal thing.sheeptotheslaughter wrote:I believe it is the Bank Holiday that weekend as well. I think we will make a weekend of it.

Are there any other tickets on sale for the Albert Hall? These SeeTickets are for the circle at the top, I'm not paying £40 to watch an ant onstage.
Re: Elvis/'Spinning , UK tour , May 2012
Tickets go on sale today which is payday - result! Just scored Colston Hall H12 from See Tickets - no need to wait until 3pm. £49.91 for a £42.50 ticket. Pity RAH is next day, but may do Basingstoke if it doesn't sell out by November payday.

Re: Elvis/'Spinning , UK tour , May 2012
I got tickets for Glasgow this morning on the Bookings Direct website.
Re: Elvis/'Spinning , UK tour , May 2012
Why can't pre sales just begin when they say?
Thought i wouldn't wait till 3pm for the official EC page presale so called box office, best they could offer was Row J at side so thought i'll take them.
5 mins later checked the EC pre-sale and low and behold it had already begun! So ended up with 2 row D centre instead.Luckily, the Soupticket people refunded me.
Phew,i need a lie down now.
oops,i was talking about the Glasgow show

Re: Elvis/'Spinning , UK tour , May 2012
I take it they're never going to release stalls A-F, or they're gone already?
Re: Elvis/'Spinning , UK tour , May 2012
No no, the stalls are not on the floor, they run around the edge of the floor. The floor which we would called stalls in normal venues are called 'Arena' seats. They didn't give me an option to buy Arena seats.the_roofdog wrote:I take it they're never going to release stalls A-F, or they're gone already?
