It was only a matter of time before Elvis covered "Hungry Like The Wolf."

Yeah, it's got to be Howlin' Wolf, since Hubert Sumlin is supposed to be there.

Not only did I get to go tonight, but got to spin the big wheel and dance to my song Oliver's Army in the go-go-cage

Surprisingly I didn't break it!!! Hubert wasn't there to give me a hit from his oxygen tank

More to come later / tomorrow

The Howlin' Wolf set w/Hubert Sumlin was amazing, especially Shake for Me - EC on harmonica and reverb vocals. I felt like I was actually hearing Howlin' Wolf for a second.

Other highlights: Riot Act with an amazing close - it actually made me think of Pink Floyd at their best.
Purple Rain, Poison Moon, Fever, and Cry Cry Cry,

Who else hopes that there might be a recording studio session scheduled w. Sumlin? Wouldn't THAT be an interesting thing to hear e.c. do --in another thread, someone mentioned long instrumental jams w. the imposters on some revolver tour songs. and then i think of the lovely echo sounds of part of delivery man and the liveinmemphis dvd...hmm.

That is definitely a 'fun' set list- far more representative of the entire spectrum of his interests. Must have been an enjoyable evening.
