Nick Lowe 2012 UK Tour

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Apparently he's touring with Wilco at the moment.
He was on Jian Ghomeshi's Q radio show on Friday - podcast here (interview at the very end of the show): http://www.cbc.ca/q/episodes/#

Hrrumph. What about a Nick Lowe Australian tour? Last time he came here I was a penniless teenager and couldn't afford the $130 for the ticket. I'd jump at the chance nowadays.

A nice little 'about the town' piece on Mr. Lowe in a recent New Yorker. I love what he has to say about aging:

2009, actually. With Ry Cooder, would you believe. Half of Little Village in one gig and I couldn't afford to go.

But I have just secured my tickets to see the great man at the Sydney Opera House, March 29th next year. 2nd row!

Jeremy, he was really good as opener for Wilco. That new album is the best from him in several years. I really love it's overall usage of understatement. He is aging well as a performer.

John has posted in the EC discussion thread about meeting up on Friday from 4pm at the Garrick Arms in Charing Cross Road.

I'll aim to be there as early as I can depending upon work commitments.

Who's in? PM me if you want to know who to look for etc.

The show the cool kids attended was awesome.

Intimate theatre, fantastic sound (the only gig I've been to for a while where you could hear and understand every word) and great to see John and MOOT as well as meeting the_roofdog.

I wish I could go again.

He ended with Alison as well.

I told him I've been trying to get my hair like his for three years. He said 'You'll have to wait til you go blonde like me'.
