Elvis/Imposters, Nashville, Sept. 25 '11
Anyone here going to this?
Re: Elvis/Imposters, Nashville, Sept. 25 '11
I'll be there.
Traveling to Nashville for a friends wedding. We are staying an extra day to see a pro football game (Tennessee Titans) and to see EC at the Ryman.

Did you say "Elvis at the Ryman"? OMG!!!! The Spookies have got to go.
Re: Elvis/Imposters, Nashville, Sept. 25 '11
This will be my 3rd time to see him at the Ryman.
In 2002, my wife bought EC tickets for my birthday at the Ryman. It was his WIWC tour with the Imposters. Awesome show! I followed up the next year, when Steve N. & the Brodsky Quartet came to the Ryman...another awesome show!
These 2 shows inspired me to explore his entire library & become a huge fan.

Hey...Come on to Nashvegas Legman!
I'm sure American Airlines would love to sell you a ticket & I'm pretty sure you can still get a ticket to the show.
If I'm sober enough, I'll try to keep a set list

Don't worry, TX_Fan, I will keep the setlist. Might even do some live tweeting from the show to keep everyone updated. But I'm hoping to be more focused on getting some video, if security isn't too strict about that.

Heading out to catch my flight to Nashville for tonight's show. Hope to be able to do a bit of live reporting on Twitter, but we'll see how that goes. If I do, you can find me here: http://twitter.com/#!/CraigatCoF.
Feel free to take anything and post it here. Wish us all a great show and lax security. : )

Someone named Lydia who must have spun the wheel tweets:
Elvis' fondness for "Lydia the Tattooed Lady" was obvious when he ripped off the "torso"/"more so" rhyme in "The Great Unknown."Elvis Costello just put his arm around me and sang me Lydia the Tattooed Lady. Be jealous @nickjonas

interesting set list. it is also interesting that there are still no signs, here or two days ago, of any new songs. i guess this is not what this tour is "about," but it seems like quite a long time since NR's demise--a long time for e.c. anyway, with no new signs...

Ah...what a wonderful show! It was a bit over 2 hours that left us all wanting more. As always, you leave thinking...man, I wish he would have played this or that. But he could have played for 5 hours and I would have still had a list of songs that I wish he'd played.
Some of the highlights for me were
"Almost Blue" (acoustic from a "jackpot" spin request)
"I Want You" (selected by a newly married couple that danced slowly in the cage during the song)
"Indoor Fireworks" (just a good fit for the venue)
"Stations of the Cross" (live seemed much better than on the album)
He did a great job with "Slow Drag" & "Jimmy Standing in the Rain"
He played some songs I hadn't heard like "Substitue" and "This Wheel's on Fire". Great Stuff!
I had an older guy sitting beside me that was in Nashville on business, he was just walking around downtown looking for something to do and stumbled upon the show. He asked me before the show..."Will he play Alison? Angels want to wear my Red Shoes?" I told him "There is no telling what Elvis will play, but you are in for a treat". When it was over he said..."You were right, that was Wonderful"
