pre-wheel:
01. I Hope You're Happy Now
02. Heart Of The City
03. Mystery Dance
04. Uncomplicated - including Shotgun
05. Radio, Radio
with wheel:
06. I Want You - including I Say A Little Prayer
07. Monkey To Man
08. God Give Me Strength (with EC walking into the crowd but staying near the stage, unlike last night's more adventurous "Long Honeymoon")
09. Watching The Detectives
10. And Your Bird Can Sing (impromptu)
11. Clubland
At this point EC starts reading aloud titles from the wheel. When he gets to "Doll Revolution," he asks if someone can help him sing it and introduces The Bangles, who had also been surprise guests at the first spinning songbook show in L.A. in 1986.
12. Tear Off Your Own Head (It's A Doll Revolution) - sung by The Bangles
13. Girl - with The Bangles on backing vocals (EC rigs the wheel for the "Girl" jackpot but only plays the one song)
14. Next Time 'Round - with The Bangles on backing vocals
15. Out Of Time (The Bangles remain onstage dancing, but only Vicki Peterson dares to enter the go-go cage)
with wheel:
16. Everyday I Write The Book
17. Stella Hurt
Encore 1
without wheel:
18. A Slow Drag With Josephine - EC solo
19. Jimmie Standing In The Rain - EC solo, including Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?
20. Pump It Up in 6/8 / Busted
Encore 2
with wheel:
21. Wheels
22. Earthbound
23. So Like Candy / Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
without wheel:
24. Alison - including Tracks Of My Tears, Tears Of A Clown and No More Tearstained Make-Up
Encore 3 (Bangles back onstage dancing but not singing)
with wheel:
"I Can Sing A Rainbow" Jackpot
25. (The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes
26. Purple Rain
without wheel:
27. (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding? - including The Kids Are Alright
The only real disappointment of the night was when "Detectives Vs. Hoover Factory" finally came up on the wheel. Rather than being the medley or mashup I imagined, it involved Elvis asking the crowd if they'd rather hear "Detectives" or "Hoover Factory." "Detectives" won in a landslide, and "Hoover Factory" went unheard.
I was told that wheel spinners "Matthew" and "Sandra" were "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner and "Grey's Anatomy" actress Sandra Oh.

Very nicely reported, once again. All that's missing is the next masterpiece by waxdoll, which should appear soon.
Too bad about Hoover Factory. Some things just should not be left for the masses to decide, and that's one of them.
"Flutter & Wow" (which had been played night 1) was replaced by new-to-the-wheel "Wheels" (which was then played night 2).
"Let Me Roll It" (also played night 1) was replaced by "Deep Dark Truthful Mirror" (which didn't come up).
"45" (which hadn't been played night 1) was replaced by "Doll Revolution" (which had despite not being on the wheel). I thought this was a really weird change at first, but it made sense after the Bangles appeared.
Night # 2 was a great show and my 53rd Elvis performance.
Not sure if this was the case with any of the other shows on the tour, but the May 12th show was being filmed professionally (I was right next to one of the camera guys), here's hoping for a live "Spinning songbook" DVD.
Interesting as the Reno show was filmed as well wasn't it?
These two shows appeared fantastic.
Looks like my supplier is going to be kept busy eh sulky?
These shows just get better and better. By the time the shows conclude there'll be plenty of other treats.
Detectives and Hoover Factory is an unfair choice though. I'd like to see two really obscure tracks chosen instead. Let's face it - there's plenty of them!
Note his comment "Matthew, it's a very fine name" before Clubland gets selected on the first night. It all looks like great fun. Film every night and release endless compliations - I'd buy them!
I've just had a quick listen to bits of a excellent recording of this show. More reactions later - have to go to work - but it was neat hear the music playing as the crowd left at the end - good old Morecambe & Wise doing Bring Me Sunshine
The intro I - and a quick Googling - couldn't identify - Rise, Robot , Rise appears to be the refrain over a brassy backing - anyone got any suggestions?
Which show? 11th? 12th hasn't been posted yet, correct?
Also appears that Jimmy is played every night and gets great feedback from the crowd. I wonder how many in the audience are hearing it for the first time? I would be curious to know if the song gets some sales on iTunes/Amazon throughout the tour.
