We is talking bad bad lyrics....

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

^that is by far one of the stupidest songs ever. It rates right up there with the "pick one catchy phrase and make a song around it" country lyrics that Shania made popular. She seems to have passed the corny torch to Toby Keith. Then I hear some song the other day called Honky Tonk Badonkadonk or however you spell it. What ever corn ball catch phrase becomes popular will quickly become a country/pop song.

See, I really have to save my vote for songs like Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Good lord, no wonder he walks alone, spewing those meaningless platitudes non-stop.

hey, now, that's my austinator's favorite song!

and it just puzzles the shit out of me because it is so at odds with the child I know, the laughing outgoing puppy-boy. it's also just one of those things that makes me love him so.

It's one of my son's faves, too, or I wouldn't know the frikkin lyrics so well. It's a catchy song, I don't mind it But the lyrics ARE inane, you've gotta admit! I'm glad he's moved onto Wake Me Up When September Ends... :D

I tend to really like the Green Day boys.........so it's hard to slag them off when there's so much other crap out there.

Case in point: Girls Aloud 'Biology'
Liberty X - Anything they sing
Westlife - 'Misha asks where are the razor blades@
Il Divo (or whatever the fuck they're called) - 'Who cares what it's called'
G4
Sugababes 'Push the button'
Most all rap music on the radio right now.
Pussycat Dolls ' Whatever the follow up to Dontcha is'

Oh, God....ok, most stuff. In fact I only listen to the radio when guns are at my head.

Some of this actually makes me miss Britney Spears. Oh, good God. <Misha considers taking the entire contents of her paracetemol box, and the ibuprofen, and soma....oh, hell and the pipe cleaner>

I'm sticking with Biology as my new No. 1 idiotic song......but My Humps is only a hair behind.

8) Misha---cranky as hell

I realize you're in a relationship with someone right now,
And I respect that.
I would like you to know that if you're ever single in the future,
And you want to come visit me in California,
I would be open to spending time with you,
And finding out how old you were when you wrote your first song.
So she's your ex? You sound a bit bitter.
;-)

She's a fucking shrew I tell you! The only reason I'll be visiting her in California is to burn her house down. Notice she only says she'd be "open" to spending time with me, not that she actually will.

Seriously, the funniest thing about the song is how her complete selfishness masquerades as genuine concern for her former lovers - sort of "thanks for helping me move on from you."
I think Alanis should get her own private wing in the Bad Songwriters Hall of Fame. She makes me yearn for the subtle melodic instincts and underplayed lyricism of Tori Amos. I think my favorite of her crimes against humanity is still "Hands Clean" where she bleats "I have honored your request for silence" over and over and over again which kinda defeats the point that she was trying to make with that statement. She's one of those where, if you were on a date with her, you'd find yourself thinking "She's cute but if we have sex then there will definitely be boiled rabbits in my future."

Just because I had a few extra minutes at work, and I'm afraid the Americans on the board might not enjoy this as much as I do:

Girls Aloud
Biology

[Nadine]
Why dont you fool me, feed me, say you need me without wicked games
Come on and hold me, hug me, say you love me, and not my dirty brain
Why don't you fool me, feed me, say you need me ,without wicked games
Come on and hold me, hug me, say you love me, and not my dirty brain

I got one Alabama return
that'll take me far away from you
cause when you take me in your arms I turn to slave but I cant be saved

[Cheryl]
So I got my cappuchino to go and I'm heading for the hills again
Cause if we party anymore we'll start a fire of pure desire
Closer ,your minds firing blind
With your head in your face getting red in your heart beats ,closer
you fall on your knees and the geek at your feet says your neat
and the beat gets closer
You dive for the thrill at the kill and your heart's had its fill
But it still creeps closer
You wanted to freeze but your weak in too deep and the beat and the beat gets closer

[All]
Closer Closer Closer Closer Closer Closer Closer
We give it up and then they take it away
A girl's got to zip it up
And get her head in the shade
Baby we give it up
Its just a matter of time
Throw all the heavy stuff
Comes back to bite your behind

[Nadine]
You can't mistake my Biology

[All]
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
its there in our thoughts

[Nadine]
The magic number is in front of me

[All]
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
so easily caught

[Nadine]
You can't mistake my Biology

[All]
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
its there in our thoughts

[Nadine]
We're gonna cause a controversy

[All]
The way that we talk
The way that we walk
so easily caught

[Nadine]
Why don't you fool me, feed me say, you need me without wicked games

Ok, I promise to fixate on something else now.

This is just the way of the world Joe said
I had to put a bullet into his head
Then lit up a cigarette
Decided to call his fat friend Fred
Well he said Fred I just killed a man
Caught him laying with my girlfriend
Now they're both dead, people can be so cold when they're dead

Kings of Leon, Joe's Head

It wouldn't work Sinatra-style, but in a feral southern howl, it passes. People CAN be so cold when they're dead.

And yet, Girls Aloud's 'Biology' is an awesome pop song with a few killer hooks whereas Green Day haven't had a decent song in years. Ho-hum.

No, no, no.

It's mind control.

It just goes around and around and around until you go crackers. Which may be too late in my particular case.

I don't believe that the BEP are joking. I would like to believe that. I just don't. Where is the love? Dunno.

It is absolute crap to me that Westlife won record of the year. Simon Cowell (or the other guy) must have a legion of teenage girls calling in. Legions. Plural.

 Misha - terrified of what next year will bring and considering putting pencils through her eardrums.
