What is your favourite EC album sleeve?
Looking at a comment made by Noise Radio in another thread (Seen the new North EC pics?) ie My favorite all time cover picture is Brutal Youth, though, it made me wonder what everyone's fave cover is.
Fire away...
Fire away...
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?

I like TYM as a record more than any other. And I adore the cover photo. It's my favorite that shows EC as a grownup. But that picture on the cover of Brutal Youth, with his as a little boy and his friend-I don't know. It makes me laugh evry time I see it. It reminds me of my own childhood. It's probably just a nostalgia thing. For composition, as in the best achievement in design, I'd probably go with Almost Blue.

for me, i like my aim is true
some of it for nostalgia , and then i love checkerboard design.
aim was my first exposure to elvis(the real elvis). i geuss it was 1979 and my soon-to-be girlfriend had a cassette tape of it. some thing just grabbed me and then went i went off to college, picked up get happy and this year's model, and never looked back.
k of a is second. in 1985/6 that is exactly how i looked. i had a concert shirt with that picture on it and was asked numerous times if that was me.
(not that they actually thought i was him, they did not know of him)

I think they wanted to go with a art-y cover for the US. Something that looked like Pollack. I hate the US cover. When I bought the reissue, I flipped the insert over so that the elephants would show.

This is an easy one for me...Trust!
Must be the old movie connection.
Also, I'm not gay or anything, but there's something about Elvis's ears on the cover of that....

TYM is by far the coolest.
I also like IB. And there's something about B&C...I think it's the shade of red...I don't know. I just like it. I have a small (actually album sized) poster of it matted and framed. I also like the pics of the band on the flip side. I have an 8x10 black and white glossy publicity photo of the headshot of EC.
I like the black and white on the cover of MAIT and how Elvis is spelled out in all the little squares.

You got me, there, Noise on the double-post and whole gay denial thing.
Don't know how these things happen...except that it was just that one time and I was really drunk, okay!

i recently bought the vinyl version of Spike and the cover scares me a little bit.
i absolutely love cover art. one of the things that's always disappointed me about EC is that his album covers tend to be either kinda cheesy or alarming. dunno, maybe that's just me. that said, i like the cover of TYM, and North looks good from here.
best album art of all time: City of Caterpillar's self-titled LP. nothin' like indie kids for obsession over tiny details, and man does it make a difference.
