Since Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams will sing on the new album, I presume that all of the 'Deliveryman'-songs will appear on the album. I guess we can expect Heart Shaped Bruise, I Dreamed Of My Old Lover Last Night (although not rehearsed in the 'South'),...

Is She Is Pulling Out The Pin a Deliveryman-song? I've not heard the lyrics so far.
Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Maybe Either Side Of The Same Town is in the Costello/Nieve-album pile, with tracks like You Lie Sweetly and Lessons In Cruelty?
What this world needs is more silly men.

I could just go crazy waiting on this new album. I've been on edge ever since the Memphis show. Every time I see a post on this thread I just can't believe I still have to wait three more months! :o

I know what you mean, Spooky. I wasn't one of the lucky souls at those Memphis or Oxford shows but news of the new band album (the first since Blood and Chocolate, I will argue!) have me wishing the summer away. . .and the family and I are having a great summer - one we really don't want to wish away!

The more I look at it, the more I agree with you.

The 27 years line can't just be coincidence can it?

You'd better be patient now Spooky... Dr. Spooky wants his back intact.

You know, from having to mow the lawn too much...

Well, 27 years is also the length of time since EC's first record and first brush with fame.

I'd also point out that "women would slap you if you knew any" echoes something he said in a BBC Radio 2 interview last September:

"A small critical chorus in this country gets highly excited, you know it's mainly men in their late thirties who live alone with a cat and don't know any women, and I don't mean to say that they're gay, you know, who write for music papers, tend to get very... kind of... rather... perspiring when we make a rock'n'roll record."

Sometimes I feel just like committing a crime,
I got this suitcase of phoney wisdom to DISPENSE
These twentyseven or so years, you'd think I'd put down some sense,
but now they want me fingerprinted like I was smuggling drugs,
and the girl of ...? deals with the most convenient thugs.
Sometimes I feel just like committing a crime,
it's needle time.
It's needle time.

Cheers VG for pointing that out! Any clues on the other bits anyone?

How about we hear a title for this CD?

It should be "Delivery Man".

Seeing as She's Pulling Out the Pin doesn't seem to have made it to The Delivery Man, and so I'm not expecting to hear it any time soon - does anyone happen to have the lyrics to this gem? (Yeah, I was there to hear it on night 3 at Avery Fisher, but memory's shady, ya know...)
