Post by wehitandrun »

This is very new information to me, and the Impostors album still doesn't have a title!

Bright Blue Times -- the greatest of the E.C. fansites.

Sorry, I probably should have posted the source with the original thread.

k...

Not to sound like a pretentious idiot here, but the fact of the matter is that site is a fansite, and doesn't source their information. They also repeatedly refer to Il Sogno as Il Sogni

I wouldn't take any release dates that aren't announced by the label or artist seriously.

The Lost Highway site just says:

New Elvis Costello Release
Elvis and The Imposters are currently recording an album for Lost Highway Records in Oxford, MS and Memphis, TN to be released later this year. Details coming soon…

This newspaper also has September 23rd as the release date. I'm sure at this point it's tentative, and as always, subject to change. But presumably, the Clarksdale newspaper didn't just pick a date at random.

That date was listed ten days ago on JohnE's site...

Sep. 23rd is a Thursday, so I really doubt it.

I guess the Clarksdale paper DID just pick a date at random! Or, more likely, they somehow got their info mixed up with last year's release date for NORTH (wasn't it released on Sept. 23, 2003?)

Anyhow, I'm glad it's wrong if it means there is a chance that the albums might be out even earlier than that.

I wouldn't count the date out just because it's a Thursday.

I thought it sounded famillar. BAH, North.

Um. Albums come out on Tuesdays (or Mondays in UK/Europe). That's the way it is, dude. But I guess new downloads come about 7 days a week so you wouldn't know that.

Er, not everyone knows about the days thing. I don't download albums (I do download top 40 singles and out-of-print stuff, though), and I didn't know about the Tuesdays. That's pretty arcane information.

Apologies, then.

I guess I've visited the record stores on one too many Tuesday mornings to be the first to own the latest album by whoever. :D

And Blue... there are always exceptions.

Movies are released on Fridays, but that never stopped Star Wars films from being released on a Wednesday(and a Thursday in Episode 2's case).

I'm sure in the world's history... there has been an album released on a nonTuesday. And if NOT... knowing Elvis, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the first.

If the new Elvis record is not released on a Tuesday, I will buy you a swimming pool.

Yeah, there are exceptions. I know the last Eminem record came out on a Friday or so, just to push it ahead as much as they could to counteract piracy or something.

But I really doubt EC is going to have that kind of problem.

All joshing (and Jousting!) aside, it's great to see Elvis back on track, releasing a new album each year!
