I guess I'll be the only one from the board who will be at the show. I'm sitting in the 8th or seventh row. The closest I've ever been. Needless to say I'm pretty excited. I've planned the trip so I hit a few record stores on the way. Can't wait.

Thanks to Elvis Costello and the Sugarcanes for more than two hours of rock and country music Tuesday night at the Florida Theatre.
Capifanos may recall my long-standing battle with fellow concert-goers who feel the audience should remain seated during the performance. Performing artists are basically narcissists who thrive on crowd energy, and the more you give, the more they give in return. Elvis begged the few people who decided to take a stand in the second hour of the show to keep it up. Ha! Take that you boring ol' sitters.
Other show highlights included Jerry Douglas on the Dobro guitar, a slow n' steady version of the typically poppy "Everyday I Write the Book," a surprise cover of the Rolling Stones' "Happy," and a rendition of the Grateful Dead's "Friend of the Devil."
