Had to laugh, had to share...
Had to laugh, had to share...
I was Googling myself yesterday (as you do... yes, you know you do) when I happened to find this link to what I think was a Spanish Ebay auction for the one and only single any band I was ever associated with, released - I hadn't realised our record had travelled any further the a few suburbs down the road from where I lived at the time here in Sydney. The astonishing thing is that it managed to get almost as much in auction as it cost us to produce at the time back in 1979.

what he said.Come on then - let's hear an MP3!
Like me, the "g" is silent.

Well, I will see what I can do about posting an MP3 on rapidshare or somewhere, but be warned that it is a terrible terrible record.
The only thing it has going for it is that according to one site here in Sydney that specialised in "punk" rarities, the site owner had heard about our record from a friend of his who had been visiting one Jello Biafra who played it to him because of the Australian connection (apparently - could be an invented story for all I know). Apparently Jello liked it, but I am not sure whether to be flattered or not because he was responsible for those REsearch Incredibly Strange Music albums.
Is rapidshare the go, or should I put them somewhere else?... either way, it won't be until tomorrow night at the earliest.

Ok, well I bit the bullet and posted the two songs in question as well as a couple of other things done with various bands in the rockabilly vein. These are all pretty much rubbish and were recorded on the cheap... even on a walkman when we played in a pub.
Anyway, enjoy (or not):
The Tenants, Los Dislocados and Rusty Romeos at:
http://rapidshare.com/files/122332322/T ... c.rar.html
(in case you got to this before I could do this, I have now combined all files into one RAR)
I take no responsibility for any ailments incurred as a result of listening to this garbage.

Is that your voice at the end of "Sporting Life" saying, "Is that me?"

No it's not... that was our guitar player who happened to be a guy named Steve Ralphs... his first cousin was a guy you may have heard of, Mick Ralphs who had a couple of small bands named Mott the Hoople and Bad Company.Who Shot Sam? wrote:

But tell me what you thought... and please be brutally honest

To be honest, it's kind of rough, but fun to hear in a "guys goofing around in their garage" sort of way. Very hyper 80-ish sort of vocals.

That's a pretty reasonable summation, and I cannot argue with that We probably spent more at the bar than we got paid most nights, which I think would go a long way to explaining those two live tracks... can't offer any excuses for the others though, I'm afraidWho Shot Sam? wrote:To be honest, it's kind of rough, but fun to hear in a "guys goofing around in their garage" sort of way.
