Random Thoughts

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

I agree. Not into his music at all, but he seems to have a fairly self-deprecating sense of humor. Not on my hate list. I like the rest of the selections, however.

Did I mention I hate Madonna? Madge and her fake British accent need to be added.

I've disliked Justin Timberlake since he started to think that he was the next Prince.

We did. Madge never scored and created beautiful goals for country and, far more importantly, club.

Most of the SNL sketches he's in are brilliant. And I think he's laaaavely.

Just back from a fantastic long weekend in Boston with the kids. It's such a great place this time of year (well any time of year really but in spring especially before the humidity rises). Monday is Patriots Day, when they run the Boston Marathon, so there is just a massive buzz around the town. Then you add in the Red Sox (is any city more fanatical about a team? I think not.), the hockey and basketball playoffs, the fine weather, the food, the scenery, the amazing cultural institutions, the students all still in town and really adds up to something special. The drive back home is another matter. I'm bushed.

He's really fucking it up, isn't he? I so wanted him to be decent, virtuous and less phony than Tony, and he's fucking it all up.

Absolutely.

The thing that hurts me most is that a Labour Government is financially punishing the poorest sections of our society.

It's not often I throw my toys out of the pram but this is one of those occasions.

Indeed I've just written a bit of a rant and then deleted it when I read it back. I think I just felt better for getting it off my puny chest.

Happy St George's Day by the way. I'm going to focus on the wonderful things there are about England. To start with, only in England would somebody employ me!

Big props to every woman anywhere who have given birth. I saw the Miracle of Birth Video today, and it was nasty.
Why don't you write about it in your blag?

Ugh! I spent most of yesterday evening spent at the emergency room - Mini Dude fell off the monkey bars at school and fractured his ulna. How come it was nothing like ER?

They put his arm in a splint last night and he's going to see the orthopedist today to get a cast. I kept telling him how cool it would be, but he was not buying it! It's a shame, because today is opening day for t-ball and he's not going to be able to play for a while. We put him on the 15 day DL.

I feel for mini dude. I was in a car wreck in 2000 and broke my radius. When it grew back together, it settled out shorter than the ulna and the difference in length was destroying my tendons and making it difficult for me to grasp things. I had to have an "ulna shortening" where they sawed out a piece of the bone so it would be the same length as my defectively shorter radius. Plate and screws were removed by the surgeon a few months later after sufficient begging by me.

Painful stuff. I hope his arm doesn't become the weather detector that mine seems to be now. He's young - should grow out of it.

Boys will be boys. Give him a hug from me.

Well the Momofuking record finally arrived this morning and I can't put it on 'cause little man is sleeping.

My daughter could have fun with the cardboard Momofuku stencil.

That's parenting - curses and hugs, guilt and sunshine. Or something like that.

You should get him a nice set of sharpies so all his friends can sign in color.
