James Irwin RIP

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

James Irwin RIP

Post by Who Shot Sam? »

My mom's eldest brother passed away this morning due to complications from throat cancer. He had been undergoing chemo and we thought as recently as October that he would make a recovery, but it was just too much for his body to fight.

He was one of the warmest, kindest men I've ever had the chance to know and the world will be a worse place without him. He really understood and appreciated kids, and it's a huge shame he and my aunt never had any of their own, because he's the sort of person who would have made a terrific father. That's two siblings my mother - the eldest of seven - has lost to cancer in the past three years. It's just not fair.

So sorry for your loss, WSS :(
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Doc and I are very sorry, WSS. There's really almost nothing we can say to make it better, but know that we are thinking of you and your family.

Thanks all for your kind thoughts. Wake/funeral sometime this week, so I expect I'll be driving out to Cape Cod.

I am sorry about your uncle. Remember the good times and try to get people to tell you the stories he wouldn't have ever told on himself whether out of humility or pride. :)

Cancer takes so many people that we hold dear.
