More TUBE goodies

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

I was raving about this show in the Song Titles thread (the whole thing has been recently posted on YouTube), but man, this is worth a look for people who don't bother to peek in that thread. A good argument could be made that the Heads were the best band in the world at that time. This is just mind-blowingly good.

Hope they see fit to reissue this on DVD at some point. I would snap it up in an instant. The Rome crowd are animals as well!

I really loved that Factory 12" Village Fire.

I think it would have to be considered the worst music video of all time. Journey's "Separate Ways" a close second perhaps?

Maybe the worst, but highly entertaining, all the same. Or nonetheless, I always get those mixed up. And who knew that my 9th grade Latin teacher moonlighted as a drummer in the greatest band ever? Dead ringer, swear to God.

I didn't realize that Doug Henning played keyboards.

Continuing on the Hawley vibe, here's the video for his latest single, "Serious". Very funny stuff. Love the bit in the bouncy castle...

Very funny. I tend not to watch Harry Hill, but he is a hoot. I love the restaurant bit. Shane doesn't look quite as pissed/near death there as usual, though he sounds pretty rough.

I guess that was her last television appearance!

Steady on, he appeared a couple of times on TV with Bowie, e.g. this great live rendition of TVC15. Bowie a stylish cocaine freak in women's clothes and Nomi looking mad in black. Those were the days.

Since a lot of the covers on Cat Power's new album, Jukebox, are obscure, I've taken to YouTube to try and find the originals. I thought I'd share a few of my favourites:

- "Silver Stallion" by The Highwaymen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RVV2wyYcyE)
- "Aretha, Sing One For Me" by George Jackson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSfIvf-s2aE)
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.
