Who gets to stand closer to Diana than the others?

It seems that out of all the musicians Elvis plays with, Steve is the one who is with him the most. He's appeared on more albums with Elvis than any of the other Attractions/Imposters, and has played in most of Elvis' touring ensembles.

Yeah, the gig's his for sure.
PLUS, he plays the same instrument as the bride. Only he plays with his OWN theramin.

I mentioned this in another thread earlier today, but my hubby said that the reason Elvis can't stay married is because Steve is his true soul mate.

Steve completes his music. He plays around his voice, remains quiet in the background, but Elvis always gives him credit when it is due.

There's just no one else. It's Steve. :)

I guess it might be someone private like his bruvva or something.

I always thought that EC is closer to Pete than anyone, he's worked with him the most hasn't he? I don't know if any of them really socialise outside of writing/performing though, though I'd like to think they do.

Maybe I don't understand this poll, but if the question is who in the Attractions/Imposters should be best man it would be a different question that who should be his best man. Some clarification please? (and maybe some definition as to the last choice?)

the first 4 choices are people who've rocked with the man, the last choice is an "other" category, like someone like his bruzza or something. :)

Then the Bruzza it is. I think that making someone from your band the best man is too much of a burden for both of you. Nick Lowe maybe?

Well, I feel stupid now. And I'm drinking now, unlike when I posted my earlier answer on this thread.

I guess I just read the question wrong the first time and I was thinking of it in more of a professional capacity. Doh!

I really don't know who will be his best man. :?

As much as I would love to see Nick up there, I have gathered (from recent interviews) that they have not remained close over the years. Steve looks like a sure thing!!

Would've voted Bruce just to be flippant, but, well -- you know....

My first instinct was to say Steve until I read the post about having a bandmate be your best man. But it's true, Pete and Steve have both been with the man for many years. And since I don't know about his personal relationships w/each of them, I couldn't say.
But at second thought, I chose his son, Matthew.
I'm not angry anymore....

When I read the available choices I thought, "Gotta be Steve." Then I read the post about mixing band and personal and thought of Nick. I didn't know things were strained. Ok, so, obviously, Matthew. But, I don't know how I'd feel about that in his shoes given the (ahem) track record to date of nuptual bliss. So, can I vote for Burt? Seems to be a good measure of respect and friendship running each direction without any family or direct band connection. What do you guys think?
