Just got home from this extraordinary show. By my count 31 songs, no patter, just hard-hitting rock & roll for two hours. They simply tore the joint down; Steve Nieve played like a man possessed.

Anybody else get the set list?

Yes, that was the end of it. Hope you caught your train! (Well, you must have, if you're home now typing).

The Watching the Detectives/Let Him Dangle medley was especially wonderful, I thought. And at the start of the second encore, he sang "Alison" as a solo acoustic number, and it struck me what an immensely talented vocal stylist he has become -- he took that song places you never would have imagined it going back '77.

At the end of What's So Funny, Elvis started up a chant of "Bring the boys home" that went on for quite a while. Back in the expensive seats where I was, the chant did not catch on (folks were too busy rattling their jewelry, I suppose), but maybe it did up with the groundlings.

It's from an appearance on the Taratata TV show in Paris, France, April 24, 1996. The audio is on the Great Unknown set as well as the Lou Reed bootleg Paris Man.
I hope last nights shows was taped, those River In Reverse (with I Don't Want To Be A Soldier) and Radio Radio/In The City medleys sound interesting.

I sent this to my friend who came with me and he amended the last entry to:

PLU (with If There's a Hell Below We're All Gonna Go)

Overall, I had a fantastic time (wish I had spotted you, storm!), but the line to get in--in Times Square, in the rain--was horrendously managed. And I felt like I was a freshman in college again when I heard someone say, "Sign up for the Visa Signature card, get a free CD!"

Looks like he couldmn't make it - was trying to sell his ticket in Trading Post as something came up. Looks like he missed out - another cracking setlist. No Action is my dream idea of encore opener. I imagine this will surface on Dime.
