From listserv =-

The set list for tonight's (or this morning's) webcast from the Ed
Sullivan Theatre was as follows:

1 Alison (EC Solo to an empty theatre)
2 Welcome to the Working Week (this song and those that follow with the
Imposters)
3 The Beat
4 Strict Time
5 The Imposter
6 Radio, radio
7 High Fidelity
8 American Gangster Time
9 Lipstick Vogue
10 (What's so funny 'bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?
Encore
11 Kid About It
12 The river in reverse
13 Pump it up

Total playing time (including Alison) circa 50 minutes.

Steve wore a black Welcome to the Voice t-shirt.

My favourite tracks - Strict Time, which I've not heard played live
since I can remember, and Lipstick Vogue

I thought the webcast was excellent. "Lipstick Vogue" was ferocious. Makes me very anxious for the DC show on the 18th!

it was a great show, im sorry if i let everyone down, not recording it. but i tried warning you that recruiting me to do it is like sendin a proctologist off to solve a murder case.

but anyway, great show, i just wish it was longer. i really liked American Gangster Time, maybe a new Imposters album on the way??

i loved the whole performance, i jumped in my seat when they played The Imposter. and i cracked up when Elvis looked at the camera and said "i know all you guys at home, are anxious to get back to lookin at porn, but not to worry we only have few minutes left..' oh, and the little adlib of "In The City" in the outro of Radio Radio, it gave me a chuckle. :) well, hopefully SOMEONE got it, i wouldnt mind at all, watching it again, then again who on here wouldnt.

Elvis Interview Link Available

If you fell asleep early (as I did) last night, you missed Elvis Costello on the Late Show With David Letterman. Here he is from earlier this week in a behind-the-scenes interview before the webcast in all of his spectactular coolness.

Interview sucked.

Bad interviewer, kept talking over Elvis. Not that it mattered.

Let me sum it up.

Elvis is pretentious. He's fat, but yet he's a vegan, and balding, on his 4th wife, has twins-okay thats cute good for him, doing Lexus/Beethoven ads- I might let that slide, but reissues for the 15th time? He has some issues with keeping up with the new wife, methinks.

Rock n roller no more. I'm struggling as a longtime fan. Anyone else?

Well, it's only his third wife (or second, assuming Graeme Thompson's info is on the money) but yeah, the interviewer sounded like he was something of a fanboy -- as if he'd been plucked from this very forum!

Right now EC's looking back. I'd like to see what he does next (read=new). In the meantime, it's late on the East Coast and I'm listening to North for the second time through. And there you go.

Forgot to mention that "River In Reverse" included a few lines from "Broken Promise Land" ("In the name of the Father and the Son/In the name of gasoline and a gun")...has he been doing this at most shows?
