Individual tracks from Peel sessions turn up now and again in good quality on various BBC programmes - heres a recent one of Mystery Dance (1 hour 15 mins in):

Is there a more recent Radio Sessions collection out there (including perhaps the Capital Radio Session, though I presume it's too much to hope that a complete version of "Hoover Factory" has emerged?) or is Martin's superb 2011 compilation still the go-to version?

Is the April 7th, 1978 Kid Jensen session in circulation? I see a reference to it on the Wiki gigography, but no song details.

This article from 2003 suggests Capital Radio was looking for their original tape of the 1977 EC session, but I haven't seen any follow up on it. Anyone?

Hi, a question for the experts! I’m passing the time sorting out my various collections into playlists for my own amusement. There’s a reference in the Wiki to a Kid Jenson session recorded for the BBC in April 1978. The Beyond Belief fanzine reported that the tracks recorded were Lipstick Vogue, You belong to me, The beat and Pump it up. Does anyone know if this exists, or did it even happen? Would seem strange as the last 3 were recorded for the JohnPeel session a month earlier. Might it have been just a repeat? Or (and this is from my hazy memory) might it have been tracks from El Mocambo, I seem to recall Peel Played a few of those?

Hi, The wiki lists the first song as Lip Service, not Lipstick Vogue but whichever was recorded, it seems to be a different opener to the Kid Jensen session. My hunch is just that they recorded all those sings at the John Peel session and the BBC chose which songs they would have preferred to broadcast . I don't think I've got the Lip Service recording whatever way!

Yes, the Wiki was updated this morning by someone after I posted this on a Facebook page also. The Wiki also details different dates and producers for each of the sessions so it does seem there were two separate sessions. I still find it odd that EC (and Jake) would redo songs from a month previous. Odder yet is that this never appeared on bootleg, despite apparently being broadcast on several occasions.

Just an update, I made a mistake in the original, post, it was indeed Lip Service that was listed as recorded in Beyond Belief, not Lipstick Vogue.
