Relatives? I'd say it time for a family reunion. Here is a picture summoning the powers of hell I'd wager to guess:

LJ--that's my kitty's twin!!!! He goes by the oh-so-original name of Socks. He has a warning sticker on his vet records.

Cats are indeed pure evil. I just had Alison declawed because she was destroying the carpet and scratching me when she got excited. She rarely bit.

ONE DAY after bringing her home from the vet, she's started biting. I'm training her that biting means a good dose from the squirt bottle, but it's pure cunning and evil that she knows she no longer has claws, so she now uses her teeth. Fuzzy, sweet, purring hellspawn.

SLC, she bites you now because declawing is a horribly cruel thing to do to your cat. I'm surprised your vet even agreed to it!

I know, I know--declawing is a terrible thing. So are spaying and neutering--I mean, it's her body, right?

I love my kitty, and I love my furniture and my carpet. I also love the skin on my legs, my clothes and my pantyhose. I've tried training her not to scratch, bought posts and bitter apple spray and catnip and God knows what else, and it didn't work. I'd rather pay a third of my paycheck to make sure she doesn't destroy anything else in the apartment than give her up. I'm sure I wouldn't like it if my fingers were removed at the top knuckle--but my owners don't yell at me for ripping their pantyhose.

I'm being cruel to be kind.

Nutty cat

Post by A rope leash »

I inherited this cat from my brother...

Image

Mao-Mao

Well, my sister tried it first, but the cat wouldn't come out of the basement. They captured her and brought her here, where she lived under the kid's bed for about a month, then suddenly came out and moved into our bedroom. She's the kind of cat you can pet, so long as you don't pet her very much, because she gets frustrated and attacks.

She was declawed years ago to protect the general public. I'm sure she don't like it. How would you like to have the ends of your fingers taken off?

There once was an old lady who lked to go shopping for antiques. One day, she picked up and old lamp at an old flea market. She brought it home, and as she was cleaning the lamp, a giant genie came out of it. She was awe-struck.

"You have three wishes..."

"O my!", she said. "Well, I'd sure like to be young and healthy again!"

Shazam, she was young and beautiful.

"Another wish?" said the genie. "Well, sure, of course! I'd like to be wealthy. Socal Security sucks!"

Shazam, she was surrounded by cash and treasure.

"One more wish!" said the genie.

The old lady looked around, and saw her faithful cat. "I know!", she said, "I have loved my pretty kitty for so long. Could you make him into a noble prince to sweep me off my feet?"

Shazam, the cat was transformed into a handsome prince. She fell into his arms, and they embraced. After a smal kiss, the prince whispered into the young girls ear.

"I'll bet you're sorry you had me fixed!"

does mao-mao do the crossword or do you?

you never cease to amaze me, rope. you're the last person I'd expect to have a cat!

the world just got a little more dangerous. I got a digital camera. cat photos will come forth eventually. I wish I'd had it yesterday--a hawk took a pigeon down at my office parking lot.

This conversation may be girly, but the "For Men Only" conversation sort of balances it out.

And I used to have a dog named Spot . . . he did indeed have a big spot on his back. Dont blame me though, he came with that name. I was all for calling him George.

I also had an unusually brown colored cat who never quite managed to have a name that everyone agreed on. Most of the time she is known as "the kitty" . . . much to my chagrin. But I call her that too . . .

Mood Swung-You need a matched set! Take Dickens. . please!

A Rope Leash-Lovely cat.

Misha-Amazing menagerie! I so miss having a dog but haven't had once since my parents divorced when I was young. We needed small pets. Toads!? I want to see them.

Not all cats are evil, just Dickens. I have had many pets in my day but never one as ghastly as she. In the end she will return to whence she came. . my sister. You can't have anything upholstered with cats and carpet is a bad idea too with any animal. Scratches are a way of life!

Here is my dashing Mr. Bingley who loves me to kiss him and flirts with me shamelessly:

And the sweet kissy Bronte but she's so neurotic, I suppose she favors me in that respect:

We used to have a cat called Tobermory that could engage in polite conversation with us. A real wit he was, and for a while our tea parties were the talk of the county. Once, the local vicar even gave a sermon extolling his virtue, regarding the cat as a wonder of creation.

Unfortunately he fell in unequal combat with a big Tom from the rectory a few weeks later, I remember Lady Blemley was most nonplussed.

Thanks again, Spooky. She's more of a furball in winter and stays with my folks rather than with myself. She's a real hunter too, always dragging in something new in her mouth - a small bird, a lizard...

Nice pic SLC, Furb always likes to lie on anything new that we bring in. Nice cats all round. I don't understand the extremety of some people's aversion to cats.
